Worst Show
Echo 3: Apple has a bunch of the good shows - and then this rubbishIs that the one that in the same.genre as Seal Team? If so, I watched an episode and bailed.

The above post has confused the hell out of me as I'm avoiding the Reacher chat as I have an episode to go.
Anyway, when @MiketheSnow did his list of best shows of 2023 I started doing one, promptly forgot and have now refound the list, so have completed it as I'm procrastinating at work.
NB: This is a list if shows I watched in 2023 so may include shows released other years. Also, I went a bit crazy and made some other categories. And as I have the memory of a fish I've probably forgotten some that I really enjoyed too.
Top 10 (excluding sitcoms, in no particular order aside from the top 3)
Reservation Dogs
The Bear
Slow Horses
Dark Winds
Paper Girls
Broadchurch
For All Mankind
The Marvellous Mrs Maisal
Rogue Heroes
My NameJust missed out on Top 10
A Spy Among Friends
Fauda - last season not as good as previous seasons, balanced out by a half Jew/half Arab hottie added to the cast.
Deutschland series - 83 on it's own would be top 10.
Heels
Blackbird
Beef
Silo
Jury DutyTop Sitcoms-ish
Upload
Shrinking
Ted Lasso
Only Murderers in the Building
The Afterparty
What We Do In the Shadows
Colin from AccountsPopcorn fun, switch of your brain late at night
The Night Agent
Arnold show
The Diplomat
The Lincoln Lawyer
Who’s Erin CarterDon’t believe the hype
Succession: Everyone raved on about "that" episode. Yeah, didn't live up to the hype. The show is a decent watch, but way overhyped.Biggest disappointment
Justified - City PrimevalBiggest surprise
Netflix docos - Beckham, Arnold, Sly, WWII in colour, the holocaust one (camp guard on trial in the 80s) that come back so I could finish it - but can't remember the name of it.Worst Show
Echo 3: Apple has a bunch of the good shows - and then this rubbish.Lincoln Lawyer is exactly as you say. Good fun without thinking too much.
….and yes, Succession was ridiculously overhyped and got boring and I gave up pretty quick smart

It's kind of, in that it has special ops guys but I think I described it in the thread as trying to be both prestigious TV and an action show - it failed spectacularly at both.
I've nearly finished Seal Team.
If it had fist started this year I'd swear it was written by AI. Aside from the dickheadness of the main guy it seems to rotate personalities through the rest of the team. More fool me for watching it.

Trust me - it's confused the hell out of everybody
Top 10 (excluding sitcoms, in no particular order aside from the top 3)
Reservation Dogs??? I've only watched S01 of Reservation Dogs - does it take even more of a swerve in style than Barry - to full-on drama or thriller?
Succession: Everyone raved on about "that" episode.
Which episode? (Curious - I don't recall any excessive hype over any single episode... but just hype over the entire thing, which not everybody bought into, but personally - I really enjoyed/appreciated the whole thing)
Broadchurch
Brit or seppo?
I've always found Reservation Dogs to be a mix of drama and comedy, but I think it got more drama as it went on, but still with some funny stuff.
Succession:
The one where the old man died. It was a bog standard episode when I got round to watching it but I was led to believe it was up there with the best of peak TV.Brits, don't think I'll watch the Seppo version - not against differing versions but I checked the wiki page and the first season story looks to close.

@Nepia yeah I found Reacher enjoyable, probably a bit more unbelievable moments than last year, and I have already touched on a couple of issues, but apparently he is like that in the books so yeah
Watched S1 of Dark Winds as well, pretty good...interestingly I see it was done by Robert Redford and George RR Martin...

True Detective. S4
A cross between The Thing and Scandi Noir. Really good.

As in the 80s cult classic starring Kurt Russell ? Sign me up for that

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters
So essentially action comedy on Apple about the backstory to the last two Godzilla movies and how Monarch was created. Filling out their own universe and if you have very seen the movie "journey 2 the mysterious island", sort of becomes a bit like that.
Light fluff to be honest but an easy watch 3 out 5

I assume you saw what movies were on the shelf at TSALAL?

No! I'll have to re-view.

Boy Swallows Universe
Started off, even up to Ep5 of 7, really good. Brilliant even.
A couple of brothers from broken family living on the fringes ... OK kind of in the midst of ... drug culture in working class Brissy in the mid 80s, complete with cop corruption.
Funny, sad, scary, challenging, all the feels. Very 'Boy' Iike.
Apparently book upon which it was based was written by a bloke brought up in that sub-culture (parents arrested for dealing heroin etc).
Really enjoying the story and trying to work out how it will all tie back and deal with the baddies.
But it didn’t.
Whole story fell off a cliff in the final two episodes. Ep6 lost that innocence and joy of the first 5, and then Ep7 just got silly.
Won't recommend against it as the first 5 eps were enjoyable and watchable on their own. And the ending in itself was ok if it had nothing to do with the start.
OK but ultimately disappointing.
