@mariner4life I remember many moons ago discussing over some beers what would be the best possible opening song to a gig.

I chose this one off the same album. Build it up ... slowly bring the drums .. band joins in .... then BOOM.

Went to the Pink concert last night here in Sydney with the wife and kids.

Think what you like about her music or politics - the show itself is bloody well done. She's a unit in terms of physical strength and putting on a performance.

Anyone willing to get into a flying harness and soar 30 metres above a crowd of people, while also holding a tune, deserves applause. You could give me all the safety protocols you want, but that's brown trouser territory.

Was listening to Good Vibrations yesterday (as fresh as any 128 track recording of today) and this popped up on my feed. George Martin thought him the one musical genius of pop music, and in the same rank as Bach, Mozart and Beethoven, so sad to read his mental state is going.

Listening to the Black Crowes radio on Spotify and it came up with this song by the Brandos.

Proper proper my type of music. Massive Stevie Ray vibe going on with the guitars with a proper southern US rhythm section.

Listened to them a bit more and discovered this beauty too:

Video unavailable…..but yes they were ( are ? Did they split up ? ) yet another reason why 90s rock was the absolute best.

Another of that ilk I rediscovered recently are Collective Soul, they did some great stuff too.

Weird. Both seem to be working here - maybe restricted.

It looks like they were a one man band, with Dave Kincaid basically being the Brandos. No idea if they are still around or not.

Rage weren’t a particularly subtle or versatile band but by golly they had a cool sound…..

Yet another case of someone actually making a Bob Dylan song listenable….
