    Impressive live.

    Got some speed too.

Not impressed with brainfart when he laid out Lynagh. Cut that out.

But otherwise he'll to the yeah.

whatever. let the 10 know you're there. it was a fraction late, nothing in it. The cries for blood from softcocks on line make me laugh

I kind of laughed, remember being at Athletic Park in mid 70s, Auckland challenging Wellington for shield. First play that Wellington had the ball on attack, Thorn (I think, Auckland flanker) did similar hit, maybe even later lol, on John Dougan and although it cost Auckland 3 points for rest of game Dougan was a nervous wreck and Aucks won shield.

It was one step. Take away the microphone and they'd be nervously tittering behind their handkerchiefs. The moral outrage was because Finau munted him. Had it been a normal tackle, nothing would've been said.

It was barely legal and don't like the idea of putting himself at risk of being officiated out of the game.

I thought it was just the kind of grubby we are looking for in an AB 6 - it was late but was not high and he folded him like a load of washing. I like the idea of the opposition backs having that in their minds.

"get your first hit in early, even if it's late" kind of stuff?

This guy sounds like the next Jerry Collins/Jerome Kaino.

No Ethan Blackadder obviously but he might get a bit of game time this year.

Honest truth, I think Segner is probably in Balckadder mold, can play 6-7-7 all pretty well and hell of a workrate!

Segner actually makes it on to the field.

I still wouldn't pick em, but.

I'm not confident Segner is big enough for Test rugby. He was probably the Blues' best loose over the weekend, mind you.

Finau is definitely big enough but he's not the most involved player. It's great when he puts in a couple of clattering hits or makes some nice ground on the outside, but he'd need two very hard-working loosies to complement him.

Regardless of his ability, some random
German guy who decides to try his hand at rugby and makes the ABs would be a cool story. Not to mention all the Panzer brigade references etc.

Well our loosies had good practice doing that at the business end of the season with the useless Tongan piece of shit.

Edit: I think Segner is looking bigger this year, he's filled out a bit.

    @mariner4life

I thought it was really late and pretty obvious, still a bloody good tackle though.

Like his attitude and work rate and totally agree he needs to be in Black.

Segner is bigger than you think (1.92 m, 108 kg). IMO his best position is at 7, and I think he is better at slowing down opposition ball/winning turnovers than Papalii in that position.

@Bovidae I agree, upset a Papalii fan on another forum got upset when I suggested it. I just like Segner, been on his bandwagon since I saw him play for NZ schoolboys a few years back in Brisbane. He reminds me of what excited me about Etahn Blackadder, I say it time and again, I a rel fan of players with huge workrates who get of ground and keep trying to contribute to game. But am willing to admit, because I measure those traits so highly doesn't make me anymore right than any other though!

@Bovidae I think it's noticeable when he isn't there that highlights his importance to thier style of play.

I think Rush is very similar to Segnar in the way he plays, but short of a couple of injuries isn't likely to get much time to show his wares

i think he should be the first loose forward on the team sheet for the Blues, and then they rotate the others around him. He's not the best of them, but he's the glue guy that lets the others best do their thing.

Not sure i am ready to annoint him international ready though
