<p>Making progress on the new software and host. In a few days I'll grab a couple of you to take a look and see what needs to be adjusted.</p>

<p>Have found a cool way to do the hosting, I won't bore you too much with the details but it's a dedicated server with the database on the same machine. It's also closer to our timezone, all of which should add up to a faster experience. Also means we shouldn't have to prune posts as aggressively as before, so searching will be more useful.</p>

<p>Downside is the migration is not going to take the bloody passwords across (saved in a different format), so it's going to be i<strong>mportant to have your correct email address saved against your profile</strong>. The migration script is going to generate a new password and email it to you.</p>

<p>We'll also have a process in place to have the moderators reset accounts if you get locked out as well. It's going to be a hassle, but worth it in the long run.</p> -

Tried Tapatalk and ditched it after an hour or so.<br><br>
The mobile responsive design for this forum is one of the better ones around, and I do app development for a crust. -

<p>Just has to be a valid one so you get your new password. Then you will be able to change your password (and email if you like) back to whatever you want.</p> -

<p>Go to your profile and click "edit profile" (so I discovered earlier today).</p> -
I tend to use the mobile version on my phone most of the time (hence the proliferation of typos) but not Tapatalk as I don't really know what that is and I'm scared of new stuff ...<br><br>
I like the mobile version generally, especially how it remembers where you were in thr thread and takes to the first unread post.<br><br>
A couple of things that are not so good:<br>- have to scroll to top of page to get a link back to the gorum<br>
- couple of mod things (can't hide posts only delete, couldn't see how to merge threads, can't see active reports and the report centre is a bit of a mess in mobile)
