I don't think anyone said it should be. But think about it like this:
If you were a coach, and a player refused to answer a phone call explaining his non-selection, and went on to make a cryptic social media post moaning about it, would you be more or less likely to be inclined to select him in the future?
I wouldn't let that worry me, to be honest

Does anyone think there is on onus on some of the older players to step aside when they know their goose is cooked?
The jersey is bigger than the individual and all that.
For example should Cane and TJP have stood themselves down?
The likes of McCaw timed their exits to coincide with the end of a World Cup cycle and knew when to exit stage left.

In the past players were dropped when not good enough. I can understand them wanting to play in the black jersey as long as they can, it's up the Razor to decide when their time is up

Incorrect, it has been this was for many years now where it is harder to get dropped, particularly completely from the squad once you have been selected.
The ABs has been more of a club than a rep team for a very long time

Back in the day it was Playboy with a Pamela Anderson centrefold under the bed. In the modern era it’s NZ Rugby World with the Sotutu pages stuck together and a few saucy Akira pictures missing. We need a dedicated thread for these lads.

I watch games, form an opinion, then come here to have my opinions corrected by you guys.
Seems to be working ok for me so far.

In 2004, The Cartel went to Europe without all the old stagers like Marshall, Mehrts and Carlos - basically because they wanted the younger guys, the starts of the future to step out of their shadows and also to allow them to develop their own new high performance culture and move away from a culture that was not delivering results (and in some respects had become a bit toxic - see the binge drinking session after the 2004 humiliation by the Boks).
That’s probably what is needed now, and we can’t do that if we are selecting guys on the basis that they are there to share their experience of this stale and increasingly unsuccessful culture.

That was largely to get rid of the negative drinking culture that existed within the team and saw the All Blacks take a massive step towards professionalism. You could argue they've gone too far the other way now (not enough individualism) but it wasn't like they were just looking to give more opportunities to younger players, they were looking to flush out some bad eggs and put them on notice, which is quite different to the current situation.

That's because they had blokes like DC, McGOAT, Weepu coming through. Two if which we new back then would go on to greatness.

Your first sentence seems to be the direct opposite to what Roberston said, and it also seems to suggest that body language is bullshit.
Apparently as the game gets harder (got tougher) his performance rises, but that doesn't count because his body language didn't match what Tubby wanted.
