Santner's stamina in the heat was also exceptional. Bowled unchanged from memory in both innings once he was brought into the attack.

Santner in this test is one of the outstanding individual performances in New Zealand sport. A superstar effort against the best in the world.

    Wow.

Last week was amazing and this is even better.

Solid performances across the board but holy shit, Mitch Santner, where the FUCK did that come from !?!?!

Man of the match, absolutely incredible. You can dine out on this forever.

It’s pretty special to back it up with another win. Normally, you would expect India to come roaring back but to beat them again, on a wicket that they produced so heavily in their favour is fantastic. What a win!!

The funny thing is the Indians will be in all sorts trying to figure out how they can amend the pitch in their favour in Mumbai.

In one game, Mitch Santner reduces his bowling average from 42 to 36.

    Holy shit! What a stat.

Isn't that the beauty of sport. No one would have called these results 2 weeks ago

Huge credit to the whole team.

Santner how good. A talented cricketer has his moment on the big stage. Brilliant.

I would also like to thank Satner’s biggest supporter for making this happen.

All the numbers point towards the left-arm spinner being a liability for the Kiwis in red-ball cricket

Not far away from what many of us thought. Good on Mitch to give us the middle finger!

One of many astonishing parts of the series win - usually our unexpected wins are ridiculously tense. Hobart springs to mind. On the scoreboard at least, these were never close.

Even the occasional senses of dread that started to appear in this thread were by historical doom-reflex, than the actual scorecard.

That was extraordinary. If you bet on us at the start of each match you'd turn a dollar into $175

To do that in such different ways without Kane was incredible. There's a song somewhere in there

    We beat them with pace
    We beat them with spin
    They doctored the pitches
    And yet we still win

A fantastic result. Good to see that most of the Indian fans stayed to the end, although they cleared out quickly. 🙂

It was nice that they gave the final word to Smith in the commentary.

I'm on holiday, so why not:

    They wish they had Dravid
    They wish they had Sachin
    They still have the spinners
    And yet we still win

The tests within the Test. You get them for 3 or 4 down but yet they still have Virat there. So you zero in on Virat hoping their number 6 or 7 don’t get away in home conditions.

I was a little shocked that some thought 300+ was no enough though….

This result would have been less amazing even four years ago……

But to do it now with…..

Rossco, BJ, Boult, Wagner all gone.

    KW injured.

    Jamieson seemingly permanently broken.

Henry injured, shit we have to play useless Santner again.

Latham and Southee not as good as a few years back.

Yeah, mind boggling stuff. Even more so after the Sri Lanka series.
