In terms of Santners performance such an unlikely guy blitzing the Indian line up at home is an absolutely Everest moment.

Hope he gets a payday out of it

In terms of the BCs I’d argue it’s better than the Oz result.

What was awesome is over the 8 innings nearly everyone stood up and contributed. Even the much maligned Blundell got crucial runs in the second innings

    Indeed.

Conway back in form too, Young did ok…..

Mitchell was…..well….very consistent with three scores of 18.

    Ravindra showing absolute class…..

Very good catching at first slip

Definitely, guys have peaks and troughs, he single-handedly kept us competitive against England not long ago. His place in the team is more than safe.

Are we going to play against anyone decent soon? It's all getting a bit boringly predictable now.

I would also like to thank Satner’s biggest supporter for making this happen.

All the numbers point towards the left-arm spinner being a liability for the Kiwis in red-ball cricket

    Satnav re-wrote history:

It’s what he’s done outside home, particularly in Asia, that’s been underwhelming, to put it lightly.

So far in his career, the left-arm spinner has played seven Tests in Asia. In those games, he’s averaged an eye-watering 53.29 and has struck once every 100 balls.

    Became.....

So far in his career, the left-arm spinner has played eight Tests in Asia. In those games, he’s averaged a commendable 35.43 and has struck once every 66 balls.

I reckon that Kohli LBW was a ballsy call from the umpire and may well have been critical in the scheme of things. At home, Indian hero, to give Kohli out in what always looked to be umpire's call to the naked eye took courage. It would have been so much easier to say not out and let NZ review.

Santner was playing with an injury for the most part of the 2nd fielding innings

Biggest Black Caps result I can remember. Hammering India in India to go 2-0 and win a series? As big a thing as ypu can do in cricket. I watched far better Australian sides go there and fail repeatedly.

This is fucking huge and these players will be spoken about with reverence for ever. When we are really old we'll sit around with our mates over beers and talk about the '24 Indian tour like we talk about Paddles in Australia.

    Amazing.

Whatever else he does in cricket from now on, Santner will be forever remembered by a generation of Indian fans.

    How good!! Deserved to.

I thought they would demolish us after that first test humiliation but a different set of players stood up and smoked em again.

I’ve never looked more forward to a dead rubber than this test. Even if we get pumped, it won’t matter as we have already won!!!

What a decade plus of cricket we have been able to enjoy. Eseentially ever since McCullum was made captain we have had so much to celebrate

I can’t think of any other examples of such a maligned player doing what he did…..

Someone performing so well relative to his record to set up an amazing victory……

Doug Bracewell maybe ? We all had such high hopes after Hobart but Santner has been average for much longer and essentially did it TWICE.

Time for a reassessment of our strengths and weaknesses I think. Does anyone in NZ know how to doctor a pitch for spin?

It's scary to think Paddles was nearly 40 years ago. I have a feeling I won't be sitting around talking in 40 years time.

Might order a couple of those giant fans that the Indian curator was using for Bay Oval...

Also funny that amongst all the arguments between 'Losstralia and Bindia' on social media, that it was the Black Caps who snuck in with a massive upset.

Reminds me a bit of Chris Pringle getting 10 against Pakistan. That one was even more out of the blue, I think he still has the record for fewest test wickets to include a 10fer. (Also, much dodgier than Santner since he admitted to ball tampering)

no bottle caps involved for this 10fer.
