They are good! One option is to call ahead rather than wait in line. Can highly recommend Madam Woo, if you do check it out make sure you try the Hawker rolls. Nom nom nom.

Arrowtown is well worth a look. Has a decent playground in the town centre, and a really nice ice cream joint near the river.

Hmm you could tie the kids together for the bungy 🙂

Enjoy, Queenstown is a primo place to visit. You might even see Justin Marshall!

I'm sure your kids would get a lot of enjoyment from watching dad go out in the lake in one of these...

If you can ditch the kids and like whisky head to this bar https://www.worldsbestbars.com/bar/queenstown/city-center/bardeaux
Top place with knowledgeable staff and an incredible selection.

If you go to Arrowtown and see an Alpaca tied up outside the pub or out for a walk through town, say hi to him. His name is Norman.

Some thoughts on our South Island tour ...

    Queenstown - awesome.
Invercargill - guess you need to know some people ...
Balclutha - the beaches near there on the way to nugget point are some of the best I have ever seen, anywhere on this planet. Stunning
    Dunedin - fascinating place
Moeraki Boulders - kids LOVE this place, LOVE it
    Christchurch - depressing. utterly depressing.
Arthurs Pass - stunning stunning drive. as good as milford sound
Greymouth - chilled, very chilled .. in both sense of the wod
Hanmer Springs - cracking little town, beautiful place to kill some time
Nelson - awesome ... if I lived in NZ, I'd probably have a holiday house here
Blenheim - loved the wine tour there, loved it.
    Interislander ... snore.

Wellington now ... North tour to come!

Don't forget to take in the highlights of Palmy if you can find some.

If you can, try and find time for a stop at the Army Museum in Waiouru. Especially if you have relatives lost on duty, the weeping wall is worth plugging their names in.

Another recommendation is catching the chairlift up to the Knoll Ridge Cafe at Whakapapa. Spectacular views, nice modern cafe, fun of a chairlift ride for the kids and there will likely be a few snow patches for them to play in as well. I'm not sure what is running at the moment (their website is ambiguous). There have been a lot of changes this year under a new CEO and while the chairs used to stop for a period inbetween summer sightseeing and winter skiing, I suspect they may be running all year now.
