Not even the Dark Knight? That usually is the most accessible one.

Outside of Heath Ledger's performance I don't rate the Dark Knight really highly, and I thought the next Dark Knight was actually bad. I enjoyed Batman Begins though.

As for Marvel, I like Captain Avenger and the combined Avengers movies but all the other standalones are only ok. I'm looking forward to Civil War.

So much stuff on these days, including TV to go with the movies - Agents of Shield, Agent Carter, Daredivel, Jessica Jones for Marvel and Arrow, Flash and Supergirl for DC.

And that's before getting into X Men, Fantastic Four and Spiderman.
-

Heath Ledger died so automatically his overrated and irritating performance was elevated to 'legendary'.

Tom Hardy as Bane was about a million times better.... -

Tom Hardy is an awesome actor, but his Bane made that Batman movie almost unwatchable.

Ledger was great in that role, dead or not.
-

Dark Knight is awesome, the Nolan batman trilogy is an awesome watch, one day when the kids are out, and I've got my cinema room sorted, I'll be putting that trilogy on. The fact I work in the building where some of it was filmed (where Freeman checks is phone in is the lobby in my building) is just a co-incidence, I swear.

I've mentioned it before, but I feel the need to mention it again. Guardians of the Galaxy blows goats in a big way. Worst movie I've watched in years.
-

Agreed. I never liked the previous Batman movies as they were all far too camp for my liking. It was fantastic to see someone take an artistic direction away from the TV show and make it much darker. But then I also wanted the Dark Side to prevail in Star Wars, I guess some men do want to see the world burn...
-

Watched the Hateful Eight in 70mm last night.

I'm a fan of Tarantino so I was predisposed to liking it, but I thought it was great. Much better than The Revenant (I watched them a week apart).

Was a bit weird having an intermission though. Kind of took me out of the film a bit.

Walter Goggins from the Shield and Justified was great and it was a film that weirdly didn't have a real lead as the focus point of the story kept moving.

Obviously as it's Tarantino there's a lot of gratuitous violence and use of the N word.
-

Watched American Sniper. Really enjoyed it, but then I think I've liked most of Clint Eastwood's flicks, he tells a great visual story.

Re-watched Casino Royale (where Daniel Craig made Bond a hardarse again instead of a playboy caricature) and original Point Break. On principle, I won't watch the remake.
-
Hateful 8 looks great, definitely gonna catch that at some stage. Michael Madsen is awesome.

Clint is god among film stars, he's been on top of the game for nearly 60 years, incredible really given he could have easily retired yanks ago.

I think Casino Royale is still the best Craig Bond, Quantum wasn't too flash but Spectre and Skyfall were great too. I hope he continues in the role. -

I'm the same, and due to the awful awful reviews too, it was $10 movie this week and I couldn't bring myself to go and see it. I seem to remember when we discussed this earlier when the preview clip came out at least one poster saying it looked good and they wanted to see it ... maybe they can give us a run down of how it was?
-

Bone Tomahawk. Pace is slow, but excellent movie.

That was me. I'm not so sure now, but. -

Did exactly the same and watched on the super wide screen last night. Apparently Odeon Leicester Sq is the only cinema in London that can project in 70mm panavison.

Thought the idea of an interval was a bit pretentious- but it really worked the cinema was buzzing talking about the film and it kinda reminded me of going to the cinema as a kid when it was a real event. Also the film works well in two halves as they are quite different in feel.

Loved the film, felt like watching a theatre production at times with the scenes inside the "haberdashery", also had a Reservoir Dogs feel in the 2nd half. The Shield guy was great, Samuel L did what Samuel L does best, Jason Leigh also great. Sadly Michael Madsen seems a bit past his sell by date though. -
Yeah, probably more of a watch for QT fans. Sometimes I like a more relaxed pace. So many films with frantic quick cuts these days, it's nice to sit back and let the characters and plot develop rather than constantly wondering wtf is going on. Or maybe I'm just slow

Caught up with Se7en over the weekend, superb movie.
Brad Pitt does the cocky not in control with his emotions superbly. Morgan Freeman is just Morgan Freeman. And Kevin Spacey in an u credited role does John Due perfectly.

But by fuck it's a depressing ending movie. -

Yeah I think MM is a bit tubby and less menacing these days. Hard to project menace when you're a bit lardy unless you're Jabba the Hutt.

In the spirit of mid 90s classics ( I wanna see Se7en again ) I watched Heat recently. Fucken brilliant flick, long but it never drags.
