Awesome stuff you see on the internet

I don’t know how to embed a vimeo vid, but here’s the link you can watch it and it is both awesome and tremendous cultural historical significance, unearthed and posted yesterday:
An 8mm film of Pink Floyd founding member Syd Barrett's first mushroom trip
-
Also 2 videos of our big fat fucker transport C-17s in Brisbane in 2018
First one is shot from a very high tower (some language)
Second one from mostly ground level - ignore the Reds-branded river ferry and random shit - the action starts around 53 seconds:

I live near the RAAF base in Sydney, and those C-17 are super-quiet on the approach which I guess is the whole idea if you're avoiding the enemy.
You can hear the C-130 Hercs coming, but these guys are almost right overhead before they're overheard.
Hercs also put out a shit ton of black smoke, they’re an easy spot

@nta You could fit the whole NZ Air Force in it’s hold. And room for the Army in the corner.
Five times the carrying capacity of the Herc as well. Significant.
When my brother did work experience at RAAF Richmond in the early 90s, the Yanks had a C-5 Galaxy in town. That thing was fucking enormous.

I've had a game of touch in a C5. It really is incredible.
I have sooo much love for hercs though.

Hell yeah - watchings those old dames touch down on a dirt airstrip nearly fucking anywhere and roll off some supplies? Magic.
I'll always remember being on one where we had to take off from the islands after a cyclone relief and the run way was too short so we had to reverse around a corner off the tarmac to try and get enough speed to take off after waiting all day for the temp to cool. Was really thrilling

Look at size of it!
