Oh dear, from Beaudy to JGB is a huuuuuuge drop, I think we'll struggle
Bugger. I'll be at the miserable hole in the ground for that as part of our traditional curtain raiser fixture. I'd only stick around to watch the Brumbies lose.

Don’t stress. You have West on the bench.

Apparently Shields lost 7kg through his illness in SA.
Must have been one hell of a chip buttie.Maybe it was just an operation to remove the tits from his hands
:smiling_face_with_open_mouth_smiling_eyes:
That's a decent cup size.

Shields and Barrett were never in contention to play, with their respective bouts of gastroentiritis and concussion only cementing decisions that were made some weeks back. Skipper Shields arrived back England duty in South Africa early on Tuesday morning, having sat the third test of that series out with illness.
A stomach bug saw Hurricanes captain Brad Shields lose seven kilograms on England duty
"He lost seven kilos in three days. He was quite sick, got hospitalised with dehydration," Hurricanes coach Chris Boyd said on Thursday. -
JGB West has been awful so thank the lord they have moved on. If JGB is crap then the backup 1st has to be Jordie
Also good to see Isaia Walker-Leawere in the reserves. We need more punch coming on so hopefully he can provide this. Shame that Aumua and Fidow and both out. I assume Fidow is out for the year
I would have liked to see Goosen at center though and Jordie back at FB.
Stuff
*Wes Goosen wore the 13 jumper in last week's friendly game against the Chiefs, but it's Jordie Barrett who'll start in that spot against the Brumbies. He'll also do the goalkicking."Wes will come into the game and I think it's most likely he'll come into the game at centre," said Boyd, before adding Goosen is "a genuine option there*

@winger I rate Goosen on the wing but he's on the small side for 13 imo - even though he's listed at 180cm and 92kg
Would never fault his effort but I've seen plenty of occasions where he loses the contact battle and either turns over the ball or it results in a really messy ruck.

OK. But he's supposed to be the same size as Proctor. I thought he was good in lasts years NPC at center. Still more to learn but he improved a lot during the year
And what about
TJ Va'a First five-eighthto replace West. (asked below)
BioKnee injuries have sidelined Va’a for most of the last three seasons, but still only 21 years old the former New Zealand age grade star has plenty of rugby ahead of him and has worked tirelessly to get himself back to fitness.

@winger ha ha we know how accurate rugby 'stats' are. I think we really need to compare both Goosen and Proctor to Ardie if we really want to establish how big/tall they are!
I would put Proctor streets ahead of Goosen in terms of dominating contact and physical play. But to be fair we haven't seen enough of Goosen at 13 to judge if he has it in him.
