Just realised the BCs have a warm-up (or confidence breaker) against India at the Oval followed by another potential embarrassment against the Windies two days later in Bristol.
The Oval game should see good attendance from the usual cricket mad Indian crowd but a Windies game up the road from Brixton would have been a better fixture if it had rolled that way.

All games, including warm ups are ticketed through the main website and it may be worth checking back after seating is completed for any new ones to come on the market..

*Thank you for visiting the official ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 ticketing site. ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2019 tickets are off-sale from 06:00 (GMT) 28 January as the seat assignment process is completed.

The ticket website will be available from 10:00 (GMT) 19 February, marking 100 days until the start of the tournament. If you have already purchased tickets, we will be in touch with you in the near future to advise which seats you have been allocated.

Once the seat assignment process is completed, remaining tickets will be available to purchase again on a first-come, first-served bases from 10:00 (GMT) on 19 February.*

@No-Quarter Is the Speedway still the preferred place? Traffic around there would be a nightmare.

I remember Jeremy Wells pushing for a cricket venue in Victoria Park but people said it wouldn't work (this was before Hagley Oval worked).

I have no idea TBH, it's a pretty difficult problem to solve. Eden Park is obviously not going to work long-term though, it's a joke that I have basically no international cricket to take my family too, especially now my boy is getting an interest in the game.

@No-Quarter I always favoured developing the old Avondale Racecourse into a test cricket venue, making it home to Suburbs New Lynn and Auckland Cricket in the process. But that will be turned into residential/commercial property when it's finally sold.

Will visiting team supporters outnumber home team fans?

Munro's T20 record is insane. 33 average at a 162(!!) SR with 3 tons. This is his forte.

I think he's sort of Munro Junior. Or Guppy as a test player.

In T20, you can come out and pretty much swing at everything. In ODIs, you've got to be a bit more circumspect and the consequences of getting out are far higher.

Weird thing is - if Munro had the same stats in ODIs as he does in T20, I'd say go with him. Average of 33 with a strike rate of 161. Somehow, the psychology is different.

Comms were saying that the bowlers have different strategies. But, if that's the case why don't they employ the same ODI strategies to Munro in T20s?

@Chris-B I reckon he's worth a go somewhere in the lineup. Even if you wanted to open with Latham and have this fella further down the order. Black Caps ODI team badly need batting help. I see he has a first class average of 37 with 4 centuries.

@KiwiMurph He can certainly bat and I'd say he's well in the mix for the reserves for the CWC.

You can basically pick your first choice XI - and then balance suggests you pick one reserve seamer, spinner, keeper and batsman.

But, they could try to open more options by making Nicholls their reserve keeper - especially, because Seifert is also definitely not great with the gloves.

An hour ago this fella Seifert was being overlooked for the odi squad by nearly all of us here, and justifiably so.

He's still not good enough for the one day team, but that was a nice wee chapter in his development. He's got the game so we know to keep giving him resources, but no need to rush him in as a cure all for our recent weak batting performances.

Needs lots of work on his keeping too as I recall

Watched a lot of Seifert for ND, he is a very good keeper.
I rate Watling and Blundell higher but nobody else.

@Siam Seifert not good enough for the ODI team but Colin Munro hogs up a spot with his awful technique? Can't agree with you there.
