Stokes deserves all the plaudits.WC final and now this. Pressure means nothing to him and that’s what separates the great from the all time great.

    A very very special sportsman.

    Never mind Stokes.

    What about his script-writer! 🙂

Summer of Stokes might be putting Botham's Ashes in the shade.

Holy shit - the man has some luck though!

Never mind the lbw, Lyon's fumble looked like a one-in-a-hundred event.

He'll be kicking himself. The batsman was so far down the track, it wasn't quite at Alan Donald level, but it was close. Sets things up for the rest of the series though

@canefan The batsman was as dead as when Trent Boult caught that ball on the boundary!

Edit: And on reflection, thank god he didn't manage to flick that ball to Guppy, because the poor bastard would've dropped it! 🙂

All time from Stokes. What a month or so he is having.

Great test match. That last wicket partnership is the stuff of legends.

Test cricket is fucking ace when it goes right isn't it?

Needed Starc to bowl at that tail...

The fact that Stokes was swinging at everything at the end there, one of those wide-ish skidders would’ve probably snagged the wicket.

What is crazy is all the drop catches (not easy ones), the half chances on the boundary, the shots getting past diving fielders to go for 4. It was surreal just watching it on TV. Would’ve been awesome to be at the ground particularly with about 5 overs to go and people started to believe

    Wow. Ain't test cricket grand.

Best result for the sake of the series. Every session is vital now and we know what both teams are capable of, good and bad.

For the record: I blame you.

    @Siam said in Ashes 2019:

@NTA that session and a bit yesterday morning and "loose bus change" has darn well kept you boys your urn.

Pretty good 100 odd overs mate!

All done and dusted with 2 to play. Congrats

No, fuck Stokes and fuck his bullshit deflection for four and fuck the umpires for giving him 6 fucking runs instead of 5. In summary fuck that lucky fluffybunny.

And no, I’m not yet over the CWC.

    4th test this Wednesday.

Word is Starc is back in. you would hope in place of Pattinson, who has done fuck all. Sorry Siam, he just hasn't stepped up.

Geoff Lawson was on TV last night having a pretty decent rant at the fact there was even a murmur that Mitch Marsh will come back in to the side. That would be hugely retarded.

Khawaja set to be the bloke who makes way for Steve Smith apparently.

Pattinson has performed about as well as Siddle. Ok, nothing more.

I think Marsh coming in would be because they don't trust Starc's accuracy. If Starc has an off spell they need a 4th seamer.

I was hoping Wade would be more consistent but the bulk of his runs have come in one innings. Mitchell Marsh is probably about as likely to get runs as he is right now

We're only 1-1 because we have abstained from Marshes.

    Why change that?

Khawaja has mainly been a passenger during the first three Tests. I haven't seen lots of him, but there's a hint of flat track bully...

Genius work by the schedulers putting a test in Manchester in September. First three days are going to be rain disrupted. Cold after that. I hope the lads from Perth and Queensland have some woolly jumpers.
