The guy most famous for flying it was pretty good too.

It had an unfortunate habit of the wings falling off though.

Even trickier is the upside down take off that he attempted.
From the headline I was curious as to the "misunderstanding", which wasn't that he didn't realise that the wheels are supposed to be on the bottom.

@JC The Mosquito was a stunning aircraft. I recall from my airplane fan-boy days as a child and teen that it was quick, and well armed. What were it's drawbacks?

Anyone tried ranking their favourite WW2 aircraft on here? I've chopped and changed a little over time as I've seen footage, read books etc, but mine would be something like this:

@shark always loved the Lancaster. The Lightning looked pretty cool. The Hurricane was massively important. The ME262 must have been amazing to see for the first time. I don't recall the mozzie having weaknesses. Cheap, fast, versatile
