@canefan yeah they said the person significant underlying health issues....
Start worrying if people are generally fit and healthy

What the actual fuck?
Isn't it time to send in the frikkin cops to disperse those critters?
And this cocktard who would like to get arrested to prove a point rather than follow the rules

If they are backpackers, self isolating in a backpackers hostel, what is the problem?
Where are they supposed to go?If someone overlooking my house took a photo, thye would see eveidence of me, my wife and kids not social distancing from each other and not wearing face masks.

But they aren't a family unit. They all have separate agendas and movements. So what happens if one of them has the virus then they all go out separately to the supermarket?

Same as if someone in a family of 6 has it and does that. If there are 5 bunks in a room with ten people and 3 rooms with 3 in each, it is still a bubble, just a big one
-
Hostels, backpacker lodges, boarding houses all have shared cooking, laundry and ablutions facility. their bubble is the entire residence. It is physically impossible even to isolate between floors.
In our case, any external cleaning staff had to be let go, but we had some long term residents who were doing part of the cleaning anyway part time. That rooftop thing is a non issue - just a case of ignorant NIMBYism.
We're already usin a roster system for supermarket visits - I bought the weekly groceries for the 6 people in my annexe yesterday as I normally only shop on thursdays anyway.
There are a lot more of these larger confined communal livingcommunities than people realise. It just isn't possible to run it the same way as a 3br house.
And sadly if one person gets the virus, everyone will get it. So I'm just expecting it to be a matter of time.

Just found out latest cases are in the town where my parents and one sibling are, so really fucked off about now.
Also did my first online shop to pick up. First available time was Wed afternoon. Added booze to order because critical.
Sorry to hear that really hope your family won’t be at any greater risk there.
Trying to do an online shop too but delivered, trouble is all slots for a week are full up! -
@Virgil Parents are both immune compromised and sibling is disabled, so my already high anxiety just shot through the roof. Supermarket is an easy 10 min drive away, I didn't even check about delivery cos we are rural. Who knows how far away that might have been.

We can only hope everyone takes this lock down seriously so that the vulnerable are safe, Trouble is there’s too many covidiots out there, looks like we might have our first local case of the virus too. Our local supermarket doesn’t appear to be taking this thing seriously either.

If the NZ government can tell landlords to freeze wages and avoid evictions without good cause then they should be able to freeze prices of essential goods in a state of emergency. One of our medical supply companies raised the price of surgical masks tenfold when the crisis started to hit. I'm not sure but I imagine they did the same for all other personal protective gear. That sort of profiteering is disgusting and should be stopped

Apparently from H&J and Redoubts bar, I hear? Your other sibling is keeping me fit online each week day.
We had to break protocols last night to save a bull. Neighbour came over to help with it and with one sitting on its head wrestling horns and other trying to find a vein, we had no chance of being apart.

@Hooroo yep. They posted about it, which was honest of them. Ha, that class is getting bigger and bigger. International too. That's when I teach the kidlets their creative writing.
I didn't realise that, neighbour told me last night as we were dealing with the bull.
I'm happy that I don't frequent either of those two bars. I only go to Bogan Tacs bar as it is the only one with a Tea And Biscuits.

I looked at click and collect or delivery but the soonest was a week out and we couldn't wait that long, so I went to the supermarket (Pak N Save) last night.
Was no drama at all. Very quiet, no queues, people respecting everyone else's space. A few couples were being told at the door only one person per trolly allowed in at a time. It was probably the least stressful shop up I've ever done.
They also had surgical masks! Woooohoooo
