@Donsteppa maybe Foster has made a number of changes to thier structure (that is not visible to the naked eye...) and the team is struggling to execute?

Outside of that, I got nuffink

It's the cattle. World's best first five excepted of course :face_with_stuck-out_tongue:

It's funny because I don't think anyone would argue our cattle is superior to what Australia and Argentina had available, yet we only won 40% of the time. I suspect the farmers of the inferior cattle knew a thing or two about farming.

    I don't understand.

In that article Sam Cane says fans don't see what is going on behind the scenes but at the same time apparently players had tunnel vision and did not see opportunities around them.

Conclusion: everyone in NZ is farkin blind but the ABs are fantastic at training. In the dark.

That article is loser talk 101.

"training really hard" is something i heard from teams like the Wallabies year after year. And it reminds me of the "best prepared Warriors team ever".

My favourite is 'we learnt a lot from that loss'.

Michael Hooper has a fkn PhD in losing to the All Blacks by now. An unquenchable thirst for knowledge. Bloke is learned as hell.

Also Sam, it's a bit rich we only seem to know fuck all about rugby when you are losing. When ABs are getting sucked off on line despite being no better than average in a good win, i bet you think they know a heap then.

As for "not seeing what goes on during the week" perhaps if professional sporting organisations did a bit more than sit in front of sponsor backdrops and spew out meaningless cliche after meaningless cliche in a poor attempt at PR maybe we would be a little more informed? Oh look, you've had a honest video session. A great week of prep. Boys have been training the house down. Awesome. New and different this week then?

Oh, okay, maybe i'll learn a bit more from an instagram post of a prop lifting weights #mondaymahi

"I promise I won't cum in your mouth".

It's all crap and I'm disappointed to hear Sam say those sorts of things.

All part of Razor's Coaching philosophy.

I rate Razor as a coach, but I agree with the NZR panel - he needs to get out of the monoculture he's coached and played in his whole career, and get stuck in other locations.

Would I take him over Foster? Probably

Would I take him over Rennie or JJ? Probably not

Would I take him over Gats? Probably not (not trolling - I reckon Gats could be a really good AB coach; that Lions team he brought here absolutely hummed on a short turnaround)

Either way, he's young, and I reckon heading overseas for a stint will be good for him.

@nzzp that's mostly moot, we had the options of razor or Fozzie bear. Razor by far a better choice

@mariner4life you forgot Laumape benching 170kg!

According to the FB/IG posts, this means he could have busted open the Argies defence last weekend!

What we have now is Foster and Razor. I would rather have a coach that can inspire than what we have.

Not sure on Gatland. but JJ and Rennie are not on the radar.

As far as Razor goes that was said about him before he took the Crusaders job he doesn't have enough experience out of his bubble,I am not sure if that is true if you are good enough you are good enough right now.He is doing a great job motivating and inspiring the AB's in the Crusaders who looked sick of SR before he took the Job.

we only have those options because NZR ran a closed process that was the opposite of 'diverse and inclusive'

NZ arguably had better players than AUS/ARG yet we only won 2/5. Their coaches clearly did a far better job with the players they had then we did. Probably the reason NZ Coaches come under so much fire, you have a plethora of talent and riches and if you somehow fuck that up then there is often noone else to blame. Admittedly we don't have the players we once had but I suspect if Rennie was in charge of the AB's we would be seeing a different side then we have this year.

    "Training really hard"

Jesus. This reminds me of a certain Hurricanes coach and his bullshit about how they were smashing it at training. We all know how that turned out.

I reckon Sam's right about the public knowing sweet fuck all about rugby. I'm astounded at the commentary I see on FB, reddit, roar etc. Even at club rugby and people talk about tactics from the 80s as if they'd work now, or their understanding of the laws and interpretations are mired back when.

I remember Matt Burke getting grief for trying to explain to people they didn't know what they were talking about given the game at that level is unrecognisable from park footy.

If you traditionally know you're in for a good team performance by certain indicators, why would you believe the result would be any different?

Maybe so but don’t alienate your fans by telling them they are basically ignorant, not a way to get the fans behind you.
