How can you be a "lone-wolf terrorist"? Terrorism by definition has to have a political ideology behind it. That makes no sense.
Inspired/ motivated by the ideology and acting alone?
In pursuit of political aims? On your own? I would say terrorists very rarely, if ever act on their own, it is always part of a political aim that they and other people are pursuing.
Precisely. One person watching ISIS videos, going full spastic at his local mosque and building a pipe bomb is a terrorist working alone.
Fair enough. Still part of a wider group with a specific call to action, so not 100% acting alone but take your point that ISIS throw those videos out in the hope that strangers will do what they want.

@Rembrandt they are doing well to fudge the lines between criticising Islam the set of ideas, and Muslims the people who follow it in varying ways.
The question is directed at Islam, which is pretty obviously a threat given the multitude of terrorist groups that adhere to it, and the conclusion is that the results show anti-Muslim bigotry despite never asking a question about Muslims.
Also this statement is laughable stupid:
The report refers to the threat of lone-wolf terrorists and right-wing extremists, who are getting radicalised over the internet.
How can you be a "lone-wolf terrorist"? Terrorism by definition has to have a political ideology behind it. That makes no sense.
Does the term "lone-wolf terrorist" also include "right-wing terrorist"? Seems a rather convenient way of avoiding the fact that most of these lone-wolf terrorists are committing these acts in the name of certain religion.
I'm sure someone torching an abortion clinic would always be classified by the BBC as a lone-wolf terrorist.

Well this is fucking horrible:
Seems very odd.
If the very look of a Pakistani gets you mad enough to punch one then living in London must be pretty infuriating.
Really good guess picking he was Pakistani too, maybe he was wearing his cricket supporters jersey.... unless he knew of him already and targetted him.
Would be great if betting agencies offered odds on these events
- Random Racist
- Tommy Supporter (They have a fractious relationship)
- Random nutcase
- Hope-not-hate supporter going for 2 birds 1 stone approach trying to drum up a hatecrime story while at the same time having a go at this Islamophobe
- He paid two LBC extras to attack him in order to raise his profile as they were planning to write him out of London talk-back radio...
Being London there is bound to be footage.

@Rembrandt Maajid is offside with both the alt-right racists and the regressive left racists and is pretty well known. I'd say whoever attacked him knew exactly who he was. Hope they catch the fucker and can figure it out.

Not to mention, bloody Chinatown! That racist guy must have been going absolutely insane.
I find it odd he's outside bending over to pick up his phone. Not really the kind of thing you leave on the ground or keep in your shoe.

Soho has well changed. Still pockets of all of those you mentioned, but just little areas now. Tourists everywhere. You have to know the backstreet routes just to move through.

More info on Maajid and his response to the politicisation of the attack. Looks like he took a fair whollop.
Super curious as to what it was all about. Targetted or random?

This makes me very uneasy. I wonder how they judge success and I wonder what the client make up is of their organisation. If it's academia led then there will be an extreme inherent bias even going into it. I saw an interview where a 16 year old was referred there for putting up a genuinely funny meme about islamic terrorists.
