Yep. I actually got out some vinyl the other week. Great sound.
Oh and back on to albums that were rinsed back in the day - Rattus Norvegicus by the Stranglers.

Yeah a mate of mine ( basically housebound since Covid ) has done that lots too......the ones I listed are ones that have few ( if any ) songs worth skipping. No matter how much you like a band and album that’s pretty hard to do, most have a dud or two.
Hence, me having The Wall on my recently thrashed list. Really wanted to get to know this album, so put the time in. Reviewed it on another thread. And despite it's magnificence, it has some incredible dross on it.

@mn5 From what I have read, David Gilmour is, vocals aside, almost the only band member recorded on the album. The quality of playing is a huge step up, and the sound is so much bigger. Gilmour played the guitars, aside from some Lee Ritenour parts, the Pocaros played drums, and several other top session musicians filled in the other parts.
Don't forget that when Pink Floyd had to re-record Money for their greatest hits album that Gilmour recorded it all himself.

I post here with trepidation as I'm not a music piston wristed gibbon like many of you. I've never been one to get too engaged with music. I like it, but I really don't listen to a lot and/or get too fussed about it.

Not my a CD but a cassette. I'm older than Drs. Noiseworks by Noiseworks. Got me through many an all night last minute Uni assignment.

Steve Winwood. Again a cassette. See above. Think it was 'Back in the High Life'. But can't remember. Haven't listened for 30+ years.

Chisel. Pretty much the 'Best of'. Knew a couple of songs and bought it because someone in the flat had bought a stereo, or I'd bought something that would play a CD or something. Loved it to bits. Even the songs I didn't previously know. Hardly listen any more. Still ok, but I don't go out of my way to play any more... 'I left my heart to the Sappers round Khe Sanh ...'

Gabrielle. Just don't let your child choose the music on road trips. 'Dreams can Come True Grsates Hits Volume 1'. Strangely there was not a volume 2. Both Mrs Boo and I loved this album. But we just cant abide it now after Ms Boo Jr had it on repeat any time we went any where. To 'Gabrielle' something has become a verb in the Boo household. Seriously awesome sound though. And thinking about it am probably close to being able to listen again.

Lighthouse Family. Not to the same extent as Gabrielle. But we certainly played it a lot. 'High' is up there with the best songs ever. Thrashed but I'd still listen to them again and again. Have all three of their early albums and recommend them all (googled and see they have a new one in 2019, on which I have no comment), and would thrash them all.

Hi-Fi guys had gone a long way from Dark Side of the Moon by the time Steely Dan's Aja came out. Sloppy "epic psychedelic" shit wouldn't hold up if you wanted to sell 10 million plus records (Pink Floyd band members lost most of their money when Warburg Pinkus went broke in 1979).
Roger Waters knew what he was doing and sidelined the junkies to concentrate on his songs and Gilmour's sweet, sweet sound.

A friend of mine from Washington State used to go camping every year and put that track on while smoking a joint. Good album.

I used to listen to a lot of Kyuss and Fu Manchu. Havent heard either for ages so on the menu for today.
Some of those other albums got thrashed back in the day but none of them have been getting any play from me in recent time times. Despite being super popular albums back in the day, none of them really seem to draw me back

Waters is the ‘ideas man’ and whilst he is a genuine rock god it sounds like he’s not a brilliant muso by any stretch
