Absolutely no chance of making a legit tackle. High force to head. Awful play.

That's it, Frank's never put himself in a position for a legitimate tackle... He had heaps of time..

    That's really bad. Red.

I’d give red for that. Are we protecting players or not?

But it is also following the rules, call was correct. Initial contact was not high therefore mitigation.

Not saying that's how it should be but it is how it is

@NTA yeah, the mitigation is bullshit. He hit shoulder to shoulder and head to head. No chance of not hitting head.

Hurricanes need to keep their heads. They have the upper hand but that is no guarantee of ultimate success

    Shoulder to shoulder first.

As @Machpants says, that’s the rules as they are at the moment.

But it did happen, they follow the protocol. Like a tip tackle, if the tipped player is clever enough to get his arm down to protect himself, then it's a yellow not red. Results matter with the current interpretation, sadly

No need for mitigation. Because there was no direct head contact, the starting point was yellow. (Direct/first contact was with the shoulder.)

If Kahui is a yellow, then how the hell would Franks be a red?

8-14 anyway for those not watching, yellow Franks, red for brumbies. 28 mins.

Brumbies are angry and there is a change of momentum

If Williams is going to continue reffing the breakdown like that, the Canes are going to have to do more to protect their ball.
