I don't think Scott Barrett can play for the All Blacks again. He should have had another red card. He is just a bit of a dog. With no 20 minute red card he is just a liability.
That’s just silly. He was one of the best forwards tonight.
And there is nothing in that clean out. Nothing will come from it.live at the game, his discipline was good until the end - then two rucks in a row it looked like the cleanouts were classic shoulder first. Looked dodgy as shit - on another night, that's straight into the cards.
On replay they were good hits.
He was very good tonight to say he shouldn’t play for the ABs again is over the top.I didn't say that. But he's a bit of a card magnet - and you can see why. They are high risk cleanouts. His technique is poor.
No I didn’t say you did my earlier post was a reply to someone else on here who said he shouldn’t play again for the ABs.
I'd start him at lock, personally

@MiketheSnow looks like contact to the shoulder, nothing else in it.

I think our big work on is Beaudy, and the other kickers. Exits and kicking for position
They really don't trust Mo'unga though do they, even when they sub him on they leave Beauden out there
He and Barrett just don't look comfortable out there together do they?
Dmac and Barrett together looked much better when we saw it.
Would be hard to leave out Mo'unga on form, of course.
Definitely, though DMac isn't a natural 10. Mo'unga is the king of Crusaderland so putting him in a secondary role to Beauden doesn't seem to work. The coaches need to make the call - one or the other - as you can't have two captains steering the ship.
I agree, but if they want a complement unless injury, they should look for a Dmac 15 who can play 10. I think there is one in the squad who knows how to complement Barrett…
If they want to use Mo’unga (which they probably should), they should probably sub Barrett (at least one of them).

@African-Monkey the All Blacks should never run with a 7 that makes one meter from 6 runs on n 60 minutes.

Pleased we beat Ireland and beat them well. I dislike their moaning.
They're the whingiest team in world rugby.
Which is odd considering BOD retired a few years ago now.
His legacy lives on

@akan004 I call BS! This is the typical response to every Irish defeat. "Ohhh the ABs were too physical". Just FO! You could put up so many of the same from both sides. The Irish go in and blow players away, it is part of their game and as soon as they get their own medicine the friggen whinging appears!
They can FO and the NZ fans agreeing....go and give yourself a self sternum punch! -

If the game plan isn't for him to be a ball runner then it probably doesn't really matter too much. According to the same stats Dalton made no runs or metres in his 20 minutes and Scott Barrett only made 8m from his 6 runs. (I don't know if they're correct). When Cane left the field he had second most tackles on the field.
-
@Old-Samurai-Jack Why did he put himself in that position though? 2 minutes to go, game in the bag, the Irish player moves his head ever so slightly the other way and it's direct contact. Unnecessary.
Agree about the whinging, they are worse than the saffas.
-
Cane is outstanding at this level, hits hard and puts his body on the line, really leads from the front.
But, I think Dalton is really coming into his prime now, and is a bit more influential than Cane is.
I'm not too fussed who starts though, we are blessed to have two genuinely world class 7s vying for the position.
Longer term I can see Dalton taking the 7 and captain mantle from Cane, but Cane isn't done just yet.

Plus we always seem to play just that much better when Sam's on the field. Hugely influential.

Would like to see Cane at 6 - Paps at 7 - with Ardie at 8 combo. PGS some good go forward off the bench - is there any love left for Akira though?

Three 7s, sounds like a plan!

Two 6.5s and one 7.12.

Has Sam played much at 6?
-
@akan004 Yeah, he has to watch himself (obviously cos of his history) but the number of "twitter short videos" that will be in circulation this week showing AB transgressions will correspond to the number of points scored against Ireland. They are a bunch of Karens.

Yeah sure the Barrett clean out might not reach the red card threshold, but fuck what's the point in what he did? Beyond stupid, like his 3-4 dives over the ruck early in the game for absolutely zero result other than giving us shit ball and the ref a reason to penalise us. Someone needs to sit him down with these clips and ask him why, tell him to pull his head in.
Edit: without that shit it was a top notch locks game.
