Where is the best place to get official player weights for comparison?

Do you want the one that has Ardie at 6’2 or Ardie at 6’6…

I'd prefer fact over fiction please ACT 🙂

Wiki heights and weights aren't bad honestly.

PSDT is really the only big difference at lineout time. He's 2m with long levers up against Ioane at 194cm.

Foster doesn't give away too much of his cunning plan, does he?

@TheMojoman I disagree about Akira. I don’t think he’s best off the bench just because we like the idea of him coming out against tired opposition. I think when he starts he gets into the rhythm of the game and seems to look more connected.

@Bones Maybe they’re comparing him to Blackadder who is a bit of a energizer bunny but is limited in is dynamic tackling and go forward ability. They don’t understand the importance of dominant tackles.

@Frye Possible advantage but Iaone is athletic and to my knowledge has always been a good lineout option. Some on here seem to forget this.

@Bovidae But that’s our problem. We don’t have a good 12 and maybe they’re deciding to stick with Havilli even though he is not good enough. Maybe they are hoping with consistency he will get better.

@broughie whatever (negligible) athleticism advantage, if any, that Akira has over PSDT, I doubt it offsets the probably 6~ inch wingspan advantage that the Bok has over the AB blindside.

Ball protection needs to be better by the ABs. This is something that I would like to see improve since the Irish series. They've had plenty of time to understand their roles in the attacking patterns.

Cleaners need to be close to the ball carrier to stop the Boks from contesting and generating quick ball. The Boks will look to contest the breakdown to stop ABs from playing their tempo game. ABs showed last year, as did Oz and England , that you can break the Bok defence down with 2-3 quick phases. But you need to be super accurate to do so.

Apologies if it has been answered but is Paps injured? Yes he didn't have the best Irish game but he shits all over Drizzle and covers 2 positions.

@Frye Depends on the thrower. The jumper should have the advantage over their opposition but I understand the issue.

@Nepia need to mix it up, we are far too predictable.

Too often he stands on the wing redundant when he'd be more useful in closer either carrying or cleaning.

Need to vary our play from that wide pass from Smith, bring some in close, keep the same way for more than 2, but more importantly, hit the ball at fucking pace for fuck sake!

Run some angles, use deception, this is where Sotutu would be great.

Too often we are getting the ball 1 step from static or static and therefore so easy to pick off with a half decent d, and the Irish rush d is probably the best.

Keep it simple, run hard and fast.

Interesting that newshub have just shown a ~30 sec montage of the NZ - SA rivalry, and now talking to Goldie and a SA commentator...not seen anything like this for some time, usually just a cursory comment on the team, even during the Irish tour there was little talk (that I saw) like this on MSM

Guess Fozzie is generating some interest...

    @broughie

The ABs will need to find a way to ensure attacking ball from the middle or back of the lineout. Ireland, with a weaker lineout than SAs, effectively shut down those areas and forced NZ to throw to the front. It’s very hard to launch midfield plays when Smith is forced to pass that distance. I think it’s part of the reason why Irelands rush defence was so effective. It’s also crap ball to maul off.

@Halfout tbf Taylor's throwing hasn't been the best, hopefully ST has been throwing darts which will provide those options.

    Stuff

    A typically shocking team...

Also I thought Angus was suspended?

Got a week off for going to a how to tackle course

I hope they sent the entire squad to that course.

Both surprised and disappointed to see Reece out of the lineup and Clarke in. But I thought he might be 23.
I remain sceptical about our choices at 12 and 6. Let's hope that both step up for 80 minutes and spark us to a victory.

I half agree because I reckon Akira is a key man against those Bok brutes.

Havilli might well end up a speed bump for De Allende though.
