Narawa at 14 played really well. 11 (CC) was ok but didn't have the work rate and defensive efficiency of debutant Narawa.

@mariner4life I'd love to see someone else at fullback, preferably someone who doesn't shovel shit and set up those around him to look like numpties.
Wouldn't mind seeing Telea on the left wing since we've given up on the power wing - he probably breaks more tackles than any other wing anyway.

"It was always part of our planning that some of the players who ran out in the test against Australia would travel to New Zealand, and given some impressive performances today, we decided to take a few more players than we originally planned for," Erasmus said in a statement."We now have the luxury of having a bunch of fresh players to work with in New Zealand from Monday, and they’ll be joined by a group who have experienced the physicality of Australia and who can add energy and momentum at training from Tuesday.

Lock Eben Etzebeth, who recently recovered from a shoulder injury, has already started training in Auckland and will lead the side against the All Blacks should he come through the week unscathed.
A host of changes are expected in the Bok side from the one that played Australia as the Boks will return to more settled combinations for the test that will surely show them exactly how far along in their World Cup preparations they are.

Agree how well Narawa went, still suspect he will get week off if Jordan fit, just to let him absorb it all etc.

I would think that Jordan is available as Chch to Auckland isn't a long distance flight.
You'd want your best scrummaging props for this game.

I'm more really looking forward to this game. Which team can actually string two good performances together? Neither have done that often for a while!

Jordan, Stevenson, R. Ioane, J.Barrett, Leicester F, DMac, A.Smith, A. Savea, Cane (c), S. Barrett, S.Whitelock, Retallick, Lomax, Sami T, De Grott
Bench: Coles, Newell, Williams, Lord, Papali’i, Roigard, B.Barrett. A. Leinert-Brown
No need to have 4 locks in the 23.
If ever there was a game to have Finau unleashed it’s a home test against the Boks. Big occasion and even if it’s on the bench for the final quarter.
Whitelock will want to play this one and whilst it’s not about sentimentality, this will be his last home test against the Boks. He was outstanding in the Super rugby final and even if we can get him through a full half I think we should.

Thought it was really odd how the Comms were trying to suggest the bench props against Argentina were the actual starting props and EdG, TL were lucky to get a start.

A test against a fired up Boks team ,
I think you just pick the team that gives you the best chance to win the game ,
regardless of what happens later in the year, its still a test match we want to win, so go with that mindset when selecting the team .

Drop-off in intensity due to fatigue is understandable, but keeping focussed in the forwards is still an issue though. A decent 9 on the bench would help too....
At least we only dozed off a bit in Mendoza rather than go to sleep like we did at Twickenham, so there's def. progress.

Depends on fitness of course but I would like to see LF for CC, he is muscular in the collision areas and so valuable for TOs, like a 4th loose forward which is handy against SA especially without a 6-2 split. Elsewhere Jordan for BB, Sami T, BBBR starting, Wiiliams, Finau and Roigard to the bench.
Would be nice to see and even if some of the above are selected, I'd be happy enough. -
@kiwiinmelb sadly I don't think it will be that simple, despite it looking crystal clear SA really want to win this match.

Yeah, ideally we'd have our 3 locks as SB, Whitelock and BBBR in the 23, with two starting and one on the bench. I think them playing Frizell so much shows they are pretty desperate for a decent enough 6 so they can have that, but he hasn't delivered consistently enough. An ideal for Finau's development would be some bench minutes against SA and a start against the minnow Wallabies to boost his confidence in the black shirt.

I think it was TJ who said something saying those lines, guy is so past his best before is not funny. During the line ups bit at the start, maybe, Marshall does the backs
