I know he is trying to say 'we're taking this game seriously' but for a coach that has a history of wrecking ABs history, not a great line to take!

Ritchie being out injured may be the tried and true Foster approaching to improving his team (being forced to change selections by injury).

We aren't winning the world cup with Ritchie Mounga at 10. might as well try DMac.

Is he confirmed out? I can’t find anything

I'm just assuming watching him hobble up the stairs with a thigh bandage.

@stodders this is ROG telling Ireland fans to shut the Fuck up about the easy QF route …

ive heard a few Irish ex players and media types now politely say , they would rather play NZ than France ,

they usually start with something like ,

while it does feel strange to say we would prefer to play Nz .........

To be sure, while it does feel strange to say we would prefer to play NZ, we’d rather play them so we would. Top of the morning to ye.

But like the Guinness, we're not bitter about taking on ABS rather than France

I'm not sure its Mounga at 10 that is the problem .. for me its the persistence of the Richie / BB dual playmaker BS that is the problem.... Mounga has shown he can play the big games well - eg SR 2023 final where he shaded Dmac in my opinion (I am a Dmac fan)-- key thing in that game was is he didn't have BB poking his shitty low percentage options in all the time..

But yeah forced changes are the only time we seem to get significant change from Foster. So would be happy to see Dmac start at 10....

McKenzie/Barrett worked well in the limited times we've seen it. A few years ago Barrett/McKenzie worked too

Ardie just said that the Ireland V SA game was one of the first non ABs games he has watched.

What a professional outfit we have here, one of our most senior players and stand in captain is not even bothered to see where the opposition is at. Sigh.

    Not this again…

Someone dig up the old thread/s on rugby players that don’t sit around and watch rugby games from start to finish.

They watch snippets, packaged up footage. Who cares if they don’t sit and watch full games.

This is a RWC ffs, you want to be as best prepared as possible and perhaps offer insights on the opposition that maybe the coaches might have missed.

Just on the DM/BB axis. Have we seen that in a big test? I'm quite excited to see how it goes. Hopefully another injury forced "master stroke".

Think Ritchie has been OK and much improved over the last year. I'm a bit of a DMac fan and think he should have more game time but think RM is a bit more solid 10 right now

Wasn't that with BB at 10 and McKenzie at 15? Can't compare. And I don't remember it working that well either.

The hilarious thing is that we'd take Anscombe in a heart beat if he was available right now.

Well Mo'unga has already lost us one world cup, no need to make it two

@Duluth What a bs again. Mo'unga didn't lose us the 2019 RWC. We all know the problem was in the forwards.

Why not? Eddie makes bold selections, is prepared to put older, past-it players out to grass, doesn't need to have obvious selections or Assistants orced on him and, unlike Foster, doesn't give undeserving players starting slots in return for public support.

    What's not to like......?

    12.5%

And he does need some decent assistants forced on him as he has a bunch of amateur leagies

It was pretty damn good on the 2018 EOYT.

That was 5 years ago, mind.
