Liked Philips talking about his bowling - something like:
"I've dreamed about taking my first test wicket since I was a little kid. But never like that. Of course, I've got out to full tosses. Everyone does. I'll take it."

So that's why Glenn Phillips got sleected - turns out he's a bowler!

Nostril-bloody-damus ... but I didn't expect to wake up to 4/53 from a filthy part timer!

Are there any stats on whether Timmy is a worse reviewer than Shane Watson...

The team must know. That's why the poor reviewing is on them not him - but edging the ball onto pads is not ok to miss

Southee ends the Bangladesh innings with the first delivery of day 2.

I look forward to watching us have a bat this evening.

Game pretty even stevens at lunch.

    For the stats nerds……

KW nudges the batting average over 55.

    He’s played NINETY FIVE tests.

    That is EXCEPTIONAL.

In all test cricket history only THREE other guys have higher averages having played more tests…..

I mean, say all you want about Martin Crowe who was one of the best batsmen of his era……and it’s tough to compare guys who played at different times but it’s a tiny bit shy of TEN runs per innings more than Hogan could manage.

    Long may his awesomeness continue.

Disclaimer: Sometimes averages don’t tell the WHOLE story…….but fuck me you’re not gonna ever convince me he’s not NZs best ever batsman by a country mile.

    Bugger.

Slight advantage back to the hosts.

Nicholls run of poor scores likely to continue before a career saving ton at home late in the summer. Standard.

Ravindra not batting whilst Nicholls gets dropped 5 times on the way to 50.....

We need a lead here, the cracks are going to open up more and more, chasing 250 batting 4th is going to be very tough on a massively turning wkt and variable bounce.

The ball is going to be fizzing and darting around corners on day 5, I’ll be nervous if we’re chasing anything over 150-160

The commentators were grizzling about Bangles picking only one seamer. It's high risk, but I like it.

If we can play spin, we can win. It's all on us. IT's their edge - we have struggled against spin historically, so why not play to your strengths? Right now it's looking like a good decision for them (sadly)

    Williamson dropped easy one too,
But it is the right idea play some shots you poke around trying to pick up singles and defend then a ball is going to have your name on it sooner or latter.

Well well well, Williamson dropped at mid wicket.

Pretty easy catch really, should have been taken.

We need Kane to make them pay for that.

Huge period of pressure this. Most important period in the match so far. Been heart-in-mouth stuff for about 10 of the last 20 balls. The sort of action highlights packages algorithms totally ignore.

We might pay for leaking too many runs in the first session yesterday...

Had wondered if Philips should bat ahead of Blundell, but unfortunately it hasn't delayed his entrance much.
