@Mick-Gold-Coast-QLD most of us didn't actually ask for this given National creamed it at the election. An unholy alliance via MMP is what got us where we are, with the obviously naive Adern bowing to all of Winston's demands.

No mention of how empty the general assembly was when starbrite spoke?
Were there any actual ‘big’ world leaders in the room when she had her amazing speech?I see the central block of seats is ten rows deep and holds about 120 people. Why-the-Long-Face? attracted a whopping 39 attendees in that block plus a handful of people on either side - see here link text. That is more than I would expect would want to hear from a lifetime party hack who comports herself like a late developing 15 year old schoolgirl, who knows everything from having experienced nothing and is given to lecturing other country leaders on their sins.
I accept we are in the age of politics stupid ², in which drongos beam approvingly upon vacuous but photogenic, evidently, nongs who cart their kid and their beta boyfriend about the place using the generous travel allowance they grant them, on top of the half million dollar salary, a pretty dolls house to live in, a shiny carriage and servants.
If the drongos were only moderately discerning they would recognise they were voting to install a leader, with no relevant leadership experience, to run a complex business, with no business management experience, to blunder about telling lies for a few terms (until their superannuation is locked in) making a mess of voters' lives and their children's lives to follow, until they get bored with it all and get out before they are found out - having added no value whatsoever to the economic prospects for their country.
As I recall this grinning idiot sheila acted early in the piece to sabotage New Zealand's energy security and got away with it. I say bend over New Zealand for more of what you thoughtlessly asked for.

Given Winstons history Mick could be talking about the mouth breathers that continually vote that shameless old crook in time after time. Hopefully enough of them have died of old age or are in dementia wards in two years to make sure he doesn't reach the 5% threshold.
Also I liked the mention of "beta" Gaylord.

If they do go through with this crap I imagine they will be gone in two years. Tax rates will skyrocket to pay for it for a start .

Petrol prices increased by 3c this week, tipped to go up another 4c, basically due to taxation. The people will not be happy

She really is grossly incompetent. Just about everything she says is very easily pulled apart. She is a good representation of everything that is wrong with the regressive left.

@rembrandt agreed.
Granted there are some who have no choice (sickness, and those partners on the same sickness benefit looking after thier partner - these are the ones that deserve more help) but too many are rorting the system and I'd say there is a decent amount who are multiple generation beneficiaries.

..."benefits haven't kept up with wage rises".
The hell? A benefit should not be a career you cretin!
National raised benefits above the level of inflation for the first time since 1977 which the left hate to admit particularly since there were two labour governments in that time .

There are Helen Clarke quotes from the 70s that the aim of welfare is to free women from a patriarchal society.
Always view these announcements in that light. It’s not about helping poor people, it’s an attempt to restructure society.

Well I think it’s bloody brilliant. The more light that gets shone on these fucking idiots and their ridiculous nonsense the better so far as I’m concerned. It’s about time some of the people who opted for this government got to see what the endgame is. Voters who thought the answer to low pay rises in the past decade was this rabble will hopefully see that this coalition will saddle us all with massive and unsustainable debt just so people who have no intention of working can get equivalency with employment without ever having to contribute anything in return.
Charlatans empowered by leeches. A pox on them all.

There’s a big difference between genuine need and offloading the consequences of your shitty life choices on to the rest of us . I don’t think she’s aware of that.
