@nzzp Way back in olden times I was a journo (print and tv) and I also spent more years than I care to remember in govt communications. Some of the questions that get asked at the press conferences are either soft as a butterfly wing or ludicrously stupid. Some reporters think that asking a question in a pissy tone makes them sound hard-hitting. It doesn't.
from the outside reading in, it looked the NZ Media was definitely buying in to the world wide acclaim for little old New Zealand, and doing anything to jeopardise that was traitorous
I bet they won't let this debacle tarnish St Cindy's image either. And if the Nats did this I would be just as angry

@Virgil we saw during the S1 of The Lockdown some of the absolutely moronic questions they asked, and re-asked.
I reckon a class of 8 year olds could ask better questions!
The bar is so low right now. Mrs CF tried watching The Project and 7 whatever its called, total waste of time in a time where serious questions should be asked

I would like to know what the plan is if we don't have a vaccine or a 20min test in 2/3/5 or ten years.

that's my question too. And no one, on either side of the Ta$man, is asking it.

is anyone in the world asking? Don't ask difficult questions if the answer will upset you...

@Kirwan I'm not ignoring anything; just don't have the time to respond immediately. I've got other things to do.
By the way, the Avatar film crew was in managed isolation for two weeks, not self-isolation, and they weren't out and about in Wellington at all. All these annecdotal stories in the media from attention seekers have all been debunked.
I had already referred to air crew, so didn't feel the need to respond to that.
So just to be clear, you asked for examples implying I was making stuff up, and I gave you three - two of which you concede are correct. One you think other people are lying, whatever.
Apology accepted.
I wasn't implying anything. I was just asking a question. No apology needed and, therefore, not offered.

while I am sure they must be looking at things like that (behind closed doors) they need to be providing at least some broader overview of what they think will happen if A, or B and in 6 month, A or B etc.
Right now, we are being given very little aside from the unknown about where we go to from here.

At least we can agree that they are letting people isolate at home. Happy to fill you in there.

Just over an hour to go till we find out how many more confirmed cases. Any guess how bad/high it will be?
The number certainly won't be dropping. Confirmed case in Tokoroa, they are focussing on testing the cluster family's Mangere Church, not good news. I think the best we can hope for is a few weeks at L3

Apparently two confirmed cases In Tok and 5 probable! (or maybe it's one confirmed and 5 probable)
I'm happy to be working in Tok today...….
By myself!
without booze!

That has to be a record posts chatting to yourself
Someone just walked in my office as I was sneezing and they just froze!!
I have hayfever from the pine Pollen that started this week and covers cars that park on site

Sure conspiracy theories around Covid can hinder the response. But the timing of the release of this in the media is interesting.
Also, maybe the resources from MBIE would be better spent on fixing the Governments blind spots rather trying to flame the divide between the nutters and the rest of society.
The positive side of this is that it may have outed @Winger as Billy Te Kahika.
