I recently recorded it a few months back. Watched it three times since. I love that movie.

I remember disliking it the first time I watched it

    Spectre

My least favourite of the Craig Bond movies. Suspect I'm not alone there, either.

It was just a bit sterile overall, with some really good stuff in there. Craig really dialled in this performance, and Waltz didn't give much else besides the bad guy he gave us in Basterds IMHO.

The quim was good. Lea Seydoux smoked it in various satiny silk things, although the lack of Isabella full-length in corsetry loses it half a mark.

@NTA Agree with all you're saying but it was definitely superior to Quantum of Solace which loses marks for Bond not dusting up Olga whatshername and having THE lamest bad guy/henchman combo in Bond history.......

Some other 1980s movies not mentioned:

    • Stand By Me
    • Romancing The Stone
    • Ladyhawke

Ah Ladyhawke... I had forgotten about that one.
A young and very hot Michelle Pfeiffer and for the first time in my (then) young life I fell in love with a blonde. After watching that I had to go back and watch Grease 2 where she was the female lead and I hated the Grease movies.

And yes, Grease 2 is aweful but damn Michelle was hot in that movie and hotter still in Ladyhawk.

One of my all time comedies of the 80's... Dirty Rotten Scoundrels

    Still holds up pretty well

Finally got to watch Hunt for the Wilderpeople, obviously went in with high expectations, and was not disappointed.

While an awful lot of kiwi humour, I think most of it translates well.

Loved the nod to Crumpy in it too.

Julian Dennison seems a pretty funny kid too, capturing the hearts of plenty

Iron Eagle had a good tilt at it.

Not even sure if I bothered with the other films when I was much less critical of sequels...

Joe "Cheese" Esposito definitely matches it......

Pretty sure that song was written by the woman who wrote Neutron Dance for the Pointer Sisters. That's a genuinely great song. Not so much the karate themed one.

You take that back. Every kid worth his salt practiced the "crane" while cranking out some Joe back in the 80s.

The film had it all, cool karate, Pat Morita, those nasty cobra kai boys, winning hurt, and Elizabeth Shue was hawt

She was typical 80s trash. The sensei of cobra kai was a great villain

    @canefan

Interesting fact. The bloke who played Terry Silva was ONE year older than Ralph Macchio even though the characters would have been at least twenty years apart.

He was a good villan too in a gresy, 80s kind of way.

@MN5 that's classic. Ralph was baby faced though. "sweep the leg!" is still a classic line

So Macchio was 23 when he played that character? fark...

    EDIT: and Shue was 21.
