Watched it with the other half. Wasn’t too bad.

Moana 2
I quite like kid's animated movies I watched with the family when younger and often try and catch sequels/remakes when the come out, so tried Moana 2.
My advice: don't
Bland, pointless, boring, paint by numbers waste of time, even for a kids movie.
1 at least there was popcorn out of 5 can I have my two hours back please.

Napoleon. Holy fook this was bad. Farking awful. Appalling not only in terms of historical accuracy but was also a meandering mess with umpteen scenes of Napoleon mulling over some issue while eating. The final Waterloo battle had some cool scenes, but was ruined by an absurdly camp performance by the dude playing Wellington and a guy with a fůcking sniper rifle!!! Complete trash.
Blink Twice. Also shit. Potentially interesting premise about billionaire luring people to his private island and abusing them (shades of Epstein) but poorly executed, poorly acted and boring. Only interest in seeing what Christian Slater and the kid from Sixth Sense are up to these days. Clearly not much.

Wicked
Having seen the stage show a couple of times, it was going to be interesting how they translated it with basically unlimited square metres to play with.
My complaints: they fucked arrived with a couple of the songs too extend the timing of certain scenes. That's it.
Overall tho it was pretty bloody good. Arianna Grande is actually fucking funny and her voice is far better than I expected from a pop star.
5 talking goats out of 5 Jeff Goldblums.

Side note: while I grew up with parents who had a decent appreciation for musical theatre (Gilbert & Sullivan's featuring prominently), it was my wife-to-be's family who got me genuinely interested when I moved to Sydney.
Her father was actually one of the leading percussionists in Australia in his younger years, and first call for any show coming to town. Also toured Asia a few times with Australian productions, and when he was just a teenager went to Vietnam as part of the entertainment.
One of our first shows together was Chicago which was interesting for me, sitting in the third row: very attractive women wearing not much and gyrating on stage.

Arcadian
Nicholas Cage is actually really good when he tones down the Nicholas Cageness. I was genuinely surprised.
Rest of the movie is a bit meh though. Post apocalyptic, have to be indoors before dark so as the bad monsters don’t get us type shtick that we’ve seen a million times before. Judging from his do there are no issues with getting hair dye when the world has ended either.
@Tim will hate this flick.
Others might think it’s ok.
2.75 clearly filmed in the UK out of 5 pretending to be in the US.

I didn't think Braindead was dull or dumb.

Alien: Romulus.
I was actually unsure if I'd watched this before, a month or so back, and had forgotten all about it. Yes, it was that bad.
1 pile of dog poo out of 5 kilos of dross.

Yeah, watched that on an airplane screen yesterday. About all it deserved.
It tried to get away with "we're effectively just re-doing the original Alien, for Gen-ZZ", but much worse, and incessant/inane"nods" to the original. Fucking insulting. "Get away from her, you..... .... bitch". -

Yeah, there's been some harsh marking the last couple of days with this and @booboo's Moana 2 review. Well, excluding Napoleon, that really was bollocks and deserves it's harsh marking.
Blink Twice came late in the eat the rich trend of movies of the last couple of years but I enjoyed it too.
I didn't think Moana 2 was anywhere near as good as the original, especially not the songs, but was an amiable well under two hour watch (not sure where Booboo found an extra half hour of footage
).

So just did a search to see what others thought of Deadpool and Wolverine. I must be the outlier here but I thought it was a not very well polished turd. No plot - actors dialed it in, lame jokes. It just moved from one over long set piece (oh explosions - wow blood) to another. Naked money grab by Disney. the Original Deadpool was great. II was the same movie but still entertaining. This was the movie trailer on rinse repeat

Deadpool+Wolverine - yeah, another one I watched on airplane screen, and feel no need to watch it on something larger.
Pretty tired formula by this stage. I get that they tried to acknowledge that to some extent, but the self-referential gags, winks to the camera (especially the literal ones) - just fell a bit flat.
Dumb fun to keep me awake for a couple of hours, and distract myself from the fact I'm sitting in a flying tin-can surrounded by hundreds of stupid, stupid people - but I'm unlikely to rewatch it. -

I didn’t even like the first one so fair to say I won’t be watching any sequels
