Dark Winds
Slow burner and the time shifts can be hard to follow, but bloody good.

Gary Oldman is superb

The Mist
Pretty dire really. Way too long and repetitive with too much focus on rows between people rather than, you know, the actual mist and what's in it.
Bailed after 5 episodes

I enjoyed it but yeah, some of your criticism is valid and they obviously listened cos it got cancelled after one season

Severance S2 finale released on Friday. A pretty good end to what was an interesting season but one that ultimately couldn't match the same consistency as the first.
I’ve been struggling with it. I love the idea of the show, but it just feels like they’ve passed it out and failed to make 2 seasons of interesting ciewing

It is clearly clever and some great acting, but a lot of it drags and lumon just gets more and more unbelievable.

I've still enjoyed it but definitely not to the same extent.
There was a very obvious structure to the first season that's really been missing in the second. It's all a bit over the place and it's been hard to figure out what the 'rules' are.

A Thousand Blows
Based on some real characters and is about Jamacian brothwrs Hezekiah and Alec, who arrive in London in the 19th century with big dreams but end up fighting in bare knuckle matches to win money, while also getting mixed up with the infamous Elephant female crime gang.
Some great acting all round, lead by Steven Graham who is in great shape as the brutal thug Sugar Goodson.

I tried the first episode and wasn't paying attention/ comprehending it enough to be interested in persevering with it. Should I try again?

@taniwharugby Speaking of Stephen Graham, his latest is technically exceptional, the fact each episode is one take is just bonkers. The actors are all so good and the content very interesting, especially if you have kids. I enjoyed it but seems you either love it or hate it. Plot is trying to understand why a 13 year old boy murders a young girl.

On our watch list. Heard nothing but praise for this. Inspired by true cases like the murder of young girl killed for refusing flowers from an admirer. Background here:

Not sure i liked this aspect in some parts, although technically well done, some parts left me strangely a bit nauseous through movement especially through the police office.
but that's been hyper critical, however overall certainly well done and well acted
