Smith's confidence was shot as well thanks to the muppet couple from Christchurch. Fuck it, I blame those two pricks for this loss.

Missed Dagg out there for the high kicks, can't play both Naholo and Julian. Felt like 2009 at times.

Well done to Ireland, targeted the missing locks and back three selection perfectly and tackled really well.

    Wow, well done Ireland.

Well coached, well executed, you brought your A game and deserved the win. Congratulations.

All Blacks almost did enough - lacked cohesion and accuracy, partly due to the quality defence that Ireland brought to the table. Joe Schmidt should take a bow, that is one quality coaching performance. and the attacking mindset got them over the line.

I don't feel that upset to be honest. A little sad to lose the unbeaten record against the Irish, but it had to happen. So well played.

That said, it felt like a bit of a perfect storm. Bad discipline, poor handling, key injuries, not responding to the ref - all leads to a loss. Lucky it wasn't by more to be fair.

Well done Ireland, well played and well deserved.

Well said and my thoughts exactly

111 years of history on the CV for the squad today. I'm alternating between sour bitterness and understanding Marshall's sympathy about being on the wrong end of history.

That first half was an all time low for the AB forwards. Play two locks, be awake by kick-off next time.

Adds a bit of spice for the Lions next year, doesn't it.

That must feel like winning a WC for Ireland, that win was more then a century in the making. What a result. You can't take anything away from them, they held off an awesome onslaught from the men in black in the 2nd 40.

The ABs will get shit piled on them by all and sundry. There will be talk of arrogance, complancy, you name it, but at the end of the day all that happened is that they were outplayed on the day. The loss hurts but that 2nd 40 was the most exciting stuff I've watched in a while.

I'm immensly proud of our achievements this year after losing the core of our team to retirement. The 18 wins on the trot was a great ride and unlikely to be beaten any time soon. So go easy lads, one loss doesn't change any of that.

Congratulations Ireland, what an amazing game, the Americans certainly got their exhibition match. Going to be a killer trivia question in about 100 years: "what ground did the Irish notch their first ever win against NZ at?"

@No-Quarter Yeah man, it's annoying to lose but the team have done us proud all year (bar 80 minutes in Chicago). Clearly Chicago was our bridge too far.

Gatland hardly covers himself in glory in his day job either.

I have to say Sexton put on a masterclass in that first half, his kicking was sublime.
