In terms of cricket, I find it hard to pick between Starc and his elegant swing attack making people look stupid, and Jonson's sheer fucking brutality making blokes shit themselves.

    Hazlewood now getting movement

Michael Clarke's inability to say the "L" sounds in "brilliant" means he really should shelve it.

Just ducked out to get tea, I seem to be the sedate influence today on no wickets falling while I watch...

I'm sure the people in your village find you funny, @Virgil - just remember, they're laughing AT you, not WITH you.

It is only a small village.

End of day one: South Africa with twice the runs for half the wickets.

But those wickets are proportional to the runs a lot of the time.

Get de Kock out, get the little bloke fined for scratching up the pitch with his boot, and we're into the tail.

Fresh morning in Hobart and we could be looking at a deficit only just over 150.

Yeah, SA in the box seat but Aus have clawed their way back into it with 5 wickets. Morning session tomorrow extremely important, if they can restrict the lead below 150 then they will be batting again when the pitch is at its best and could potentially set a decent target.

    Good toss to win.

Might have been one of those funny cases where the Jaapies have actually bowled Oz out a bit too quickly and they might have been better off conceding another 50 runs and retaining three wickets for tomorrow when the pitch should improve.

Still - they'd take 80-odd runs ahead with five wickets standing at the end of day 1.

A worry to see Lyons bowl one that turned a mile and bounced shoulder height. I'm not sure how much that will settle down.

More rain predicted the next two days - doubt whether the moisture is coming out of the pitch any time soon.

Voges had an average of 95.5 after the series against NZ (after 15 test matches).
4 and a half test matches later, he is averaging 64.47. I was expecting him to score large again now they're back on Oz pitches

Voges averaging is plummeting to a level more befitting his actual ability.

@NTA surprised Shaun Marsh got dropped, not his brother obviously.
