@ACT-Crusader At full strength, we'd thrash them.

Mind you - at full strength we'd have half of their players! 🙂

That's a slippery road for you to head down .... 😉

Saders are favourites all day long. Chiefs and the Canes are playing from the same book this year - messy, dumb, lots of mistakes, individual brilliance getting them through.

Should be a fun game though. Hoping Cruds comes through OK as he may be important in the Lions series.

@No-Quarter I don't know. The Chiefs have a tight five that can hold their own against the Crusaders imo, unlike the Canes' front five.

The Chiefs also have had the wood over the Crusaders in recent times so it will be interesting to see if the Crusaders can overcome any doubts that may exist.

    It will be tight.

@akan004 the Chiefs almost lost to the Sunwolves, at home. That's beyond embarrassing, I'm not convinced their tight 5 is that much better TBH - will be interesting to see how they go.

If the Saders can back up the forward performance from last week* then they should win pretty comfortably. But Cane and BBBT alone make that a much tougher ask.

Still, the Crusaders look to be going from strength to strength. Bastards.

*Still smarting over the reaming in the forwards last week. Was rather traumatizing.

It was pretty tough watching us lose lineout after lineout and scrum after scrum. Razor has them humming as a pack, they're really feeding off each other. Canes and Chiefs often look very disjointed by comparison.

Granted they have been poor recently. On paper though, they are strong. Bird, BBBR, Hames, Harris and Laulala are not bad.

Our backs were superb defensively last week. However in attack they didn't finish off some of the good breaks made. Chiefs backs are very good and Lowe usually pulls out a big game against us. We'll have to defend just as hard as last week.

I actually like Hall starting against the Chiefs.

@akan004 Exactly. On paper the Chiefs tight five rolling out this week is next level compared to what the Canes rolled out last week.

Still think Boshier deserves a shot at 7 - move Cane to 6, with Leitch at 8

Nah, not the same book. The Canes are thrashing the weak teams and looking like a bit of a mess against good teams, while the Chiefs seem to be playing at the same level as their opposition. I reckon (and fuckin hope) they'll be a very different looking team this weekend than what we've seen over the last couple months.

The Saders are still favourites though, of course.

Gutted over Ngatai. Really hope it's nothing and they're just being super cautious.

Yeah fair point, on paper they look the goods. Playing as a pack is another matter though.

I like Boshier too but Mitchell Brown played really well against the Reds and offers another lineout option.

Change in Crusaders line-up: Matt Todd won't play and Heiden Bedwell-Curtis takes the 6 jersey (Samu moves to 7). HB-C is replaced on the bench by Ta$man Mako Vernon Fredericks.

Big set-back for the Crusaders. Todd has been huge this season. Never heard of Fredericks.
