No tests in Hamilton in two years? That sucks balls. It's a great ground. I don't know why they are playing a test at Harbour instead of one of the proper regional stadiums.

    That's three years between roadies!

I agree. I'm glad we didn't get Argentina though as that seems to be the default test for Hamilton. A French test would have been nice. I don't think the Caketin deserves 2 tests in a season.

Pretty amazing that Nelson would get an ABs test given that it's not many years since NZR didn't even want us to have an NPC team. 🙂

However, I daresay they've crunched the numbers and will pretty much be guaranteed a sell-out crowd at Trafalgar Park, so no doubt found they might as well come here as anywhere else.

In 2019 there will probably be only three home tests:

    1 versus South Africa/Argentina
    1 versus Australia
1 versus a Pacific Island team

You would imagine Wellington and Auckland would get two of those tests and Hamilton or Christchurch will get the other. Regardless one of those cities will probably go four years without a home test.

PI test might be at North Harbour Stadium.. Can't imagine them playing a test too far away from Auckland, which has the most islander support..

Mangataikoka in with a chance to host in 2019? About the same level of facilities as Trafalgar Park. A couple of uncovered temp seats whacked up around a field.

All Blacks to take Bledisloe Test against Wallabies to Japan in 2018 ahead of World Cup

THE All Blacks will take a potentially series-deciding Bledisloe Cup clash against the Wallabies in 2018 to Japan.

It’s understood that the Test will be played in late October, in the lead up to the All Blacks’ match against Japan on November 3.

The last time the trans- Ta$man rivals played in Japan was back in 2009, when the All Blacks beat the Wallabies 32-19 in Tokyo.

The last contest played outside of Australia between the two nations — outside of the World Cup — was in Hong Kong 2010, with Australia prevailing 26-24 thanks to a last-minute converted try to James O’Connor.

With Japan to host the 2019 World Cup, the match will provide both teams another opportunity to familiarise themselves with the land before rugby’s showpiece tournament.

This is an article from Fox Sports, so nothing official yet.

@stargazer this was mentioned in the media a few weeks back as well. I think that is an ordinary idea for 2018.

2019 will be a two test series with it being a World Cup year, it is the All Blacks turn to host two Bledisloe Tests next year, I reckon they should both be in NZ this time around.

Reports in Ireland yesterday that Ireland will play New Zealand in Dublin next November, with a potential second match at a neutral venue a la Chicago last year.

This seems the best place to post this, considering we had a discussion about the likes of Viagogo last year when people were looking for tickets for All Blacks matches.

    Ticket resellers (report from Consumer)

Our investigation of the ticket resale market with Australian consumer group Choice found sky-high markups are far from the only problem.

Of the 1051 consumers who provided information to our investigation:

56% were charged extra fees on top of the ticket price
15% didn't get the seat promised
11% of purchasers paid for tickets that never arrived
8% ended up with fake tickets, and
3% were turned away at the door because their ticket had been purchased from a resale site and the venue wouldn’t honour it.

Viagogo was the cause of most complaints. But other ticket resellers, including Ticketmaster Resale and StubHub, also featured.

Quite a bit of useful info on that Consumer page (even without reading the report).
