@no-quarter yeah I realize that (I think people need to venture out of NZ to truly appreciate it) but was more meaning the less we see/hear of the US politics, Middle East, NK will hopefully mean things are all good in the world....

@no-quarter yeah mate i appreciate your compassion and empathy. I've lived under too many corrupt and self servings dictatorships and administrations. I'm cynical but i call it realistic. All the leaders are primarily concerned with their power base imo
Fixing other nations is akin to wasps, gorse and canetoad introduction. Done for the right reasons but unconsidered factors just shifted a problem.

Reuters reports, b/c American media can’t & won’t.

What absolute shite.
One google search is all you need to find the same story being promulgated by CNN, CNBC, Fox, WP, Guardian etc etc
But you carry on believing what you want.
Can this be called 'Anti-Trump Derangement Syndrome'?

Of course you dont. It might mean you say sonething good about Trump.
Stuff.co.nz has its obligatory 2 anti Trump articles for the day. And not one mention of the non partisan DACA meeting or the North Korea talks. No wonder many kiwis have no bloody idea what is happening in the US

No, it's because it's a poorly written article that doesn't back up its headline with evidence. It may make a valid point but I'll wait until more comes out.
I note you are happy not to comment on the article as well but happy to have two cracks at me, one for pointing out the stupid comment of another poster.
-
@Crucial evidence for what? That he praised Trump? I don't think the article really tried to make a point, just seemed to be reporting on what was happening.
The "talks" are pretty unlikely to be very fruitful, and Trump has indicated as much, but it's better than nothing.

Poorly written???
Lol. Ok.That is a new high in a determination to never ever say anything positive about Trump. I am sure you can find some grammatical mistakes in the articles about the DACA meeting and stockmarket highs that could mean you also dont have to discuss those. I suspect you dont take such high standards into articles criticizing Trump
I am not sure if Trumps approach will ultimately get rid of nukes in NK. But it is already achieving more than Obama ever did.

Considering there are 5 reporters, two writers and an editor listed it's a bit poor that the headline and statement aren't even backed up with a quote. Would have been simple to do.
I only made a post about the stupidity of @Salacious-Crumb s assertion about the media and deliberately didn't comment further because I thought the article was a bit light and hardly worthy of exclamation.
I would be happy if Trump is doing good things in this area. Happier still if he didn't undermine that good work while sitting on the crapper with phone in hand.
-
@Crucial fair enough, articles that lack direct quotes are a massive bugbear of mine as well. Almost as bad as "anonymous sources". He's quoted in other stories though, pouring a bit of water on the opinion that Trump is undermining South Korea with his response to Kim Jong Un's threats.
My biggest gripe with the media is the lines between fact-based reporting and opinion pieces are very blurred now, and opinions are often being presented as fact. They generally all report the news but you do have to be wary of the bias of the organisation. In this case the articles I have read have been mostly just reporting what is happening, so as you say, nothing to see here.
-
All of these headlines from left-leaning media outlets are pretty fucking insane. They're basically running propoganda on behalf of the brutal NK regime.
We get it, you guys hate Trump and Pence, but normalising and even glamorising Kim Jong-un's family is taking things waaaaay to far. This woman oversees hundreds of thousands of people starving in labor camps being worked to death.
Oh but that smile!

Yeah wtf is with that? She is literally the deputy director of the Propaganda and Agitation Department. It's like they want to destroy the tiny speck of credibility they had left.

What do they want in return? First there was being nice to South Korea and talk of reconciliation, now this. Very suspicious
