I reckon there is an 80+% chance AJ is on steroids (or PEDs of some description).

Joe’s Mum is not happy with the steroid comment. I’m sure the Norton comment was instigated by Hearn so JP shouldn’t have taken the bait. But fuck ‘em! 😊

There seems to be a tactic of trying to get under AJs skin and disrupt his focus. Whether it pans out to be a good tactic will be seen later.
AJ likes to play himself as Mr Cool and in control. Take him out of that headspace and he won't be as clear on what he is doing.

I like AJ. He's a well spoken, likable kid. Probably on PEDs but I hope he's not.

I think Parker is doing what he has to do to sell himself. If he has to be a clown he going to do it. Im not really a huge fan of it, you always want our guy to be the cool one. But Higgins seems to have found a way to get Joe noticed and their all going to be rich regardless of the outcome.

I will say this though. Parker can win.

    Massive call Raz.

Off topic slightly but imagine if tennis players had to trash talk to gain interest in a match. Roger Federer, who vies with Wynton Rider as the most boring athlete on earth, would be absolutely terrible.

Create headlines , helps sell pay per views , pretend they hate each other etc etc ,

I actually think the steroid talk was a mistake they regret ,joe got a bit excited with the trash talk, they have back tracked pretty quickly on that one,

But Higgins and Joe will talk more about Joshuas chin , and the fact he has been on the floor , antagonise him ,

Hearn will come out and say , I think they are getting under Anthoney's skin ,and im not sure that is a wise move,

Joshua will say , im going to teach this guy a lesson for being disrespectful , im going to knock him out

And there is your sales pitch to the UK public.

Why has Parker turned into such a tool?

I won't be gutted to see AJ knock his lights out.

@hooroo I expect in part cos Higgins is a tool, and if you hang around someone enough?

Yeah this side of him doesn't come naturally, just seems forced and comes across as a twat, need a bit of humour to make your talk work.

It's completely put me off supporting him.

I loved the Klitchsko v AJ fight as all the pre-hype was mature and respectful. Then this really dumb kiwi comes out all contrived and pathetic.

    awful

Ive met JP a number of times (through work) and hes very humble. Its all Higgens and hype building IMHO. The problem is though that Higgens is pretty dam bad at it

I would go as far to say he would be the worst ever in modern boxing times?

Every time it is just a massive cringe.

I believe they have been encouraged by Hearn to make some noise to help promote it , as cringy as it might be , have to say it’s working , it’s making headlines on the boxing pages .

Joshua isn’t a natural trash talker either, which makes the buildup to generate some publicity and hype all the more awkward.

I don't care if I'm on my own here as it seems to be the cool thing to hate Duco in this country, but David Higgins is doing a good job and has done a very good job for Joe throughout his career. Good to see him going there and ruffling a few feathers too. Far better than listening to the usual AJ wankfests that we usually have to hear from matchroom and sky sports.

No-one knows who Parker is over here in the UK haha. Makes for an interesting 2 months build up.
They will sure enough know by March 31 - hopefully Parker isn;t just in it for the purse and we get to see something of the "fast hands" we know he has.

Remember when Shane Cameron's manager decided it would be a good idea to use his key ring torch, to cringe worthy effect, in the presser before Cameron was basically ruined by Tua? "See that little light? Well its going to be [turns light off] lights out for David Tua..."

Higgins is like that every time he opens his mouth. Its like someone's westie uncle has stumbled drunkenly into a press conference and they're actually letting him speak. There's so much corny ass machismo going on. Higgins is the personification of a bright yellow trans am at a traffic light with a bright red outline eagle on the bonnet, hard out revving its engine at teenagers while blasting "eye of the tiger". Out of date.
