Two excellent posts suggesting that Serena faced racial discrimination in tennis.

    I wonder....

Excelling at sport in a sporting community has a way of negating skin colour in my opinion.

Look, we can't ever know what it's like being a black woman in America.

This Serena nonsense is an amalgamation of both these immutable characteristics, but pertaining to the race part I reference this, (it's a reliable source on a landscape starved of authenticity I reckon):

Should we water down the, racial vilification of all black U.S. citizens, pity or empathy that a good kiwi upbringing demands of us?

    I dunno, perhaps a bit?

yeah Serena wouldve had a tough time growing up black around all them white country club tennis Malibu Staceys sniggering at her shit. Also doesnt help that in terms of x's and y's she looks about 48% BLOKE.

But still, just imagine if say, a Djokovic went up to an ump and yelled "I never cheat. I have a daughter. I do what's right." The gales of laughter would shame the nutter right off centre court. Instant viral meme status. Sponsors would be glancing at each other like "what the fuck is wrong with our guy? Has he been touched in the head or some shit? Get him off the fucken air. Our product is not in the market of being associated with entitled divatic lunatics suffering from some sort of disassociative reasoning fucken schizoid meltdown."

Yet in the sepposphere when a proud black woman says that loopy tripe to the ump she's standing up to her white male oppressors.

I wish you'd post more often double R. Your shit rocks !

US Blacks face a lot of discrimination. But not all of them.

Serena has faced almost none. She's been lauded from her early teens. She's had everything she wanted. And she behaves like a spoiled princess as a result.

Martina Hingis, growing up an immigrant in a country famously not fond of immigrants would probably have faced as much discrimination. And no-one excused her princess behaviour.

@majorrage Classic, there is a big difference from being a strong black woman and an out and out bully Serena.

ok that cartoon panel is a bit much, the massive lips etc, that's no different than the old Sambo cartoons etc from back in the day that were rightly vilified.

Although i'm fucked if I know how you draw a caricature of Serena's facial features otherwise. Caricatures are obviously supposed to be exaggerated. If it were me I would've gone the safe comedic route and pixellated out her entire face haha

Agree with you there, I would have drawn her as a huge baby spitting out a dummy . Either way that’s a pretty easy target for the perennially outraged to have a Twitter pile on about.

They had the exact opposite reaction to this pile of shit.

The bit that doesn't help isn't that she's got big ass lips, she does, it's the presenting the others as white.

The comments are batshit insane. How else was he supposed to draw her?

This whole thing is so ridiculous. Despite her apparently shocking double handicap of being both a woman and black, SW is in the top 1% of the 1% of the 1%. No sane individual can claim she's been hard done by or that her "handicaps" have hindered her ability to obtain the type of life 99.999999% can only fantasise about. Considering there are literally thousands of males who could kick her arse on the tennis court, maybe those banging on about equality should be given a taste of what that really looks like.

Don't read this unless you have a vomit bucket nearby:

This shit has taken a turn for the surreal. The vast majority of people couldn't give a shit about race or gender. They are simply reacting to a very successful and experienced athlete acting like a pathetic spoilt child. Yet some have to see a race or gender war in absolutely everything. Maybe the umpire also hated the fact she was a mother and should have been home with her kid? The mind boggles at the mental gymnastics going on here. That must be so farking tiring.

Frank, I held my breath wondering whether I should post this.... it’s hitting a little below the belt... but I went blue in the face, gave up, and figured whatthefuck.

Whining Serena Williams is tennis’s Hillary Clinton

Things didn’t turn out how she wanted — so she had a tantrum at the umpire. How classy!

@salacious-crumb You could also make a similar analogy between Osaka and Trump, and their oratory skills. 😀

I hope they do. How can you umpire a match when you know your name will get dragged through the mud by insane lefties if you enforce the rules? They don't get paid nearly enough for that.

Congrats to Osaka and Joker on their wins.

Love Osaka’s unassuming and humble manner and yet a real fighter on the court.

US Today program rarely offers up anything worth watching but thought they dealt with okay.
