I musta missed something, I didnt get that Lando was shagging a robot?? It was late when I was watching it, s maybe I missed the innuendo
Nah it was nothing in my eyes. A real stretch to say he was pansexual(?), was it the actor that said that because if it was never said I'd never have suspected
My understanding is that the robot suggested that they were rooting. The innuendo was there at least.
Your understanding?
Maybe watch first, throw comments later? The droid was commenting on relationships and, as part of the droid character having problems accepting that it wasn't actually human, inferred a crush on Lando and a belief the feeling was mutual. The comment thrown back was 'is that even possible?' to which the reply was 'oh yes'.
I would never have taken it as sexual innuendo if others hadn't bleated on about it and drawn out the pansexual comment about Lando. To me it was about having a strong (read loving) relationship between a droid and human.
The other thing to realise is that once this droid 'dies' its IP and personality is absorbed into the Falcon which is part of the backstory as to why Lando feels so strongly about the ship and how Han and Chewie were able to outrun/outsmart the Empire for so long.
I thought it was an interesting addition to the SW universe.
But hey, if you want to make it about gender politics to prove your point about why you don't like a movie you haven't seen then feel free.So they were inferring the possibility of a sexual relationship between a robot and a human? In a SW film. Thanks for clarifying it. But hey if you think that's appropriate in a SW film give yourself an upper cut.
So you read into that the 'possibility' of a sexual relationship and I'm the one that needs an uppercut?
A therapist would have fun examining that thought process.
A machine with no sexual organs MUST be having a sexual relationship with a humanoid because it has human tendencies of strong feelings resulting in a 'crush'?OK
Yeah sure Crucial. The guy who thinks the idea of a droid and human in a romantic relationship is weird is the one who needs a therapist. And if you reckon that scene did not imply a sexual relationship you're a bigger idiot than I thought you were. Ffs the guy who wrote the scene has confirmed it.
Just saw the scene. You think that belonged in a SW film? Put aside your insane devotion to your side and give me an honest answer.
Not sure why I'm replying if you are going to throw around insults but yeah, I have no problem with it being in a SW film.
After all we had a bit of sibling snogging in the OT and that hardly caused every teenage kid that saw it to rush into their brother's/sister's bedroom did it?Of course you wouldn't. That would betray your side. Can't have that. And if you don't like insults, refer to your initial response to me. You set the tone mate, not me.
Piss poor comparison, particularly considering GL hadn't even come up with that plot line yet.
What on earth is this 'your side' rubbish?
I have an opinion, it is my opinion. I'm not bound by any 'side' -

You should watch it, I expect you would change your mind. She is Lando's Chewbacca. They care for each other like any partnership. The sexual relationship banter was simply that. His reaction when she got shot up was no different to the way Luke felt when R2 got into scrapes
So there was banter about a sexual relationship? That's seriously fucked up.
The droid says something like oh yeah we've thought about having a relationship, when Lando gives no hint. In fact he kind of rolls his eyes when she says shit. Dragon mum says oh, how does that work? Droid says it can work after comedic pregnant pause and Dragon mum gives her the sideways look. The droid reminded me of the kind of character Queen Latifa used to play. If that is enough to trigger you then it is what it is
OK so you think that belongs in a SW film. Cool. Good to know. Albeit more than a bit disturbing.
Have you watched it yet? I can't believe you are that thin skinned
Thin skinned? Wtf? I think something is weird and inappropriate for a SW film and I'm thinned skinned? But sure, if humans fucking robots is your thing I'm not going to judge. I'd just prefer SW steers clear of that shit.
Here is a quick clip which shows what the droid is like. Just like the Simpsons appeals on a number of levels depending on your age and experience, kids wouldn't pick up anything other than the cranky robot talking. Sorry bit I can't find the major clip in question
Forget the kids thing. Why even have it in a SW film?

Not sure whether to post a picture of Patricia Bartlett or Graeme Capill.
Her first scenes are of her trying to convince a droid engaged in a cage match to stop because it is hurting it's own kind. She starts a droid "uprising" on Kessel. She talks shit and does it with swagger and a smart mouth. She's too much of a parody to be taken seriously

Funny? What's funny about the idea of droids fucking humans? And we're not talking about those humanoid Westworld hosts but things out of Lost in Space. And based on the comments from the writers, it had nothing to do with humour but a very obvious attempt to make some kind of progressive statement. Why inject that shit into SW films? It's just weird and unnecessary.

I didn't see it as droids fucking humans. If want to see it like that, go for it. But I didn't. I didn't make the mistake of reading anything from the writers until after. Even then it feels like a BS claim. If they were that into portraying real human-droid intercourse they could have had a bedroom scene or something

Jeez man, they are trying to be funny. Sure it doesn't hit for everyone but I suppose they are trying. Remember, GL himself saw the SW films as being in the B movie style, not meant to be taken too seriously. It's not, or never was War and Peace
I'm pretty sure they would if they could, but even the current mob aren't that brazen... yet.

After all we had a bit of sibling snogging in the OT and that hardly caused every teenage kid that saw it to rush into their brother's/sister's bedroom did it?But at least it was two humans. Droid-humans relations, ugh
Except by people that haven't seen the film or the context but are experts about it. Yep, just like I remember Patricia Bartlett.
I have seen the scene in question Crucial. Is there anything else I need to study to become an expert like you?
Maybe the rest of the movie so that you understand the droids character?

And that will somehow justify a scene in which she hints at sexual relations with Lando?

My main issue is that she is an astonishingly shit and annoying main character and there's been a few of those in SW of late.
I don't know what you're talking about. Holdo, Rose and the Locksmith were awesome. I'll bet the kids just rushed out to buy those toys.
Fark TLJ was absolute shit.
