India tours to caughtcheating land (oh fuck yes, this cow's worth milking for another year at least!🤣) this summer, first test on Dec 6

Kohli's team is different from others. They don't seem so temperamental and look definitely more professional. Not so much bundle dropping anymore and 4-1 vs England doesn't tell a true story. They took 2 tests to suss out batting in England and the poms got real value from Broad, Anderson, and Butler.

But finally the Indians have quicks that can bowl spells. 4th test, India had 4 seamers and 1 spinner, England had 4 and 2 and the Indian batsmen lost that game.

So, for perhaps the first time the injuns go to sandpaper-alia without a reliance on spin and packing seamers for hope. India relied on their pacemen in England so they're quite well conditioned.

Imagine the ovation Kohli would get back home with a series win in the Confederated States of "We know where the line is", then wonder of his motivation

Aussies never lose easy at home mind you, it usually takes a preceding calamity 😉

Nah, that series will be a cracker

@gunner The Marsh brothers are the backbone of that batting line-up!

Munro and McCullum both win the CPL Final.

What a choice life McCullum leads at the moment. A few rugby games for Matamata 2's and T20 cricket, mixed in with horse racing.

    Nice!

@hooroo All these guys who are now earning millions via the T20 circuit have Martin Crowe to thank imo. It was his Cricket Max format that sparked the idea that an even shorter version of the game than ODIs was possible.

T20 - NZA currently 35 for 6 in the 7th over vs Pakistan in UAE. Could be an early night for all!

Good to see that we came back to win the T20 series 2-1.

Phillips made runs in both the 2nd and 3rd game, Worker in the second game, and several chipped in to support Phillips in the third.

Interesting to see Kyle Jamieson playing at this level. He's an interesting prospect - very tall and potentially very awkward if he can add a yard or two of pace from when I last saw him.

Two rounds of Plunket Shield gone and its only Labour Weekend. With just eight rounds scheduled this year the Wellington team has already played 50% of their home games and the club season has not even started here in Wellington yet. Whats worse the matches are Wednesday to Saturday so very little chance to get along to take in any of the play, particularly the last game against Otago that finished inside three days. I was fortunate enough to enjoy the best part of two sessions at the Basin last Saturday in beautiful sunshine albeit in wintery temperatures (two days were also lost to rain!) but looks like that might be my fill of domestic first class cricket for a fair while. Damn you NZCC game schedulers!

@higgins real sign of the times eh? Maximise the t20 and international at the expense of domestic comps.
Aussie do similar with their one day comp. All over in 3 weeks before the middle of October.
Vics won the comp before the cricket season started, basically

@siam @Higgins frustrating. Shows the value of longer form cricket, which is NIL to the administrators.

And that attitude shows with people like Corey Anderson only playing short form. Why kill yourself if you can play for a few hours at a time and mint it

Sadly we are at the mercy of what the bean counters say, or more particularly what the holders of the TV rights tell them what they want. Whatever they say they will never succeed in diminishing my love for first class cricket in favour of the limited overs version they want everyone accept as the only cricket worth taking an interest in.

@baron-silas-greenback no criticism inferred by me, this is a stark financial reality and not a fault of administrators. There's simply reduced public interest
