My interest with these cases is simply in our legal process and how such obvious bullshit (such as the first prosecution case) manages to convict someone.
I'm sure we all agree that when someone is obviously guilty, there's not a problem manufacturing evidence to assist a conviction.

Back in the pre-internet days the Farmers catalogs were a hugely important part of a young mans life.
The columnist does have a point that the ads could be better - no bras at all for example would appeal to many.

Readership down 20% in last 12 mths

Thats a huge hit, sad to see but not all that surprising.
I wonder if they will heed the warning and change tact....or double down..
I could be out on a limb here but I don't think I'm the only person in New Zealand who thinks Ewen McGregor is more than likely guilty. He used a hammer to bash in the heads of calves, harassed his brother in law for months and burned down his house because he hated him so much. North and South have written three stories trying to prove he's innocent, they tried the same thing with Lundy too and the guy who killed those kids in the Sounds. Putting aside the idiot politics they've decided to follow championing the cause of someone who was found guilty by two juries of killing daughter with a tomahawk and someone who in all likelihood got away with murder is going to be a huge turnoff for readers.
tl:dr, they are fucked.
The only thing Ewen McGregor is guilty of is being as dishy as fuck.

I went to the Titanic museum in Belfast. They have replicas of the different cabins in each class. Needless to say that people back in 1912 must have been considerably smaller because the bunks and rooms in general were tiny!! And shared bathrooms in the lower classes will go down like a ship hitting an iceberg

This article is a banger.
Now all we need is some bloke firing back that he lost out on a job as a nail technician to some woman.....
I’m surprised she didn’t metoo her toddler for copping a feel, it would have kept the spotlight on her.

@mn5 TBF, the company is pretty dumb for saying that is why she didnt get the job!
Yep, but I guess they can't say they didn't like her (I had an awful lot of words that I didn't use there).

True. They did open the door for some butthurtness.

@mn5 I applied for a job about 4 years ago, I got a rejection letter pretty promptly, I was told they had selected a better candidate that was better qualified; just the way it is in the big bad world.
Problem was, I knew they hadnt selected anyone, and I was told by 2 people that worked at the place, the 'boss' was intimidated by me being under them given they had applied for the job I had got and had been doing 6 years prior, I also know the person they ended up appointing, was not more qualified than me as well....now if only they had been more honest in thier letter I coulda told the world how my feelings were hurt!

It's not sexist, it's strongist.
OMG. Strongism is the worst!
I have just realised that I employ 8 people and 7 of them are women because they were best suited to their jobs and yet they all insist on saying "heavy lifting required" when we advertise for new staff - then they want another woman. And they only have to lift 10kg, And I shouldn't say that I employ them because I am just a bloke who carries heavy stuff not pays the wages. This patriarchy thing sucks!

@taniwharugby said in Alternative needed from the absolute crap of stuff.co.nz:
@snowy did you ever encounter tallism?
Yep. I prefer to be referred to as "undershort" to butcher a word that you coined I think.
I have actually experienced the "hit the big bloke, it makes you tough" thing in pubs. On most occasions it ended badly for the undertall guy. Reach is a big thing when hitting people (and avoiding being hit). Quite often you can just hold the top of their head and keep them away - that really drives them wild - hilarious.
-
@taniwharugby As mentioned above, I effectively have 8 wives. I am therefor not easily offended and explains why polygamy is a poor option for anyone. I understand why men in cultures that embrace it blow themselves up.
I also hang out here so thick skin is required. I would actually appreciate it if somebody could be offended on my behalf as I'm not very good at it.

fuck, this is the ultimate humble brag.
-
@mariner4life if you cant brag here, where the fuck else can I brag?
At anyrate, was a shit job for less than half the salary I had been on and alot less than I am on now, hindsight and all...
