    Yeah.

I expect him to make the squad actually, but as 5th seamer (at expense of Bracewell).

My preference would be him in the starting 11, as I said above, if he is in reasonable form.

I have no idea where Milne stands in Gary Stead's pecking order.

Here is a (stupidly small sample size) list of our recent ODI bowling in England.

I chose since the end of last world cup (as that is when England got good at ODIs after Bayliss took over). This would also include the Champions Trophy v whoever we played (I have no recollection of that tournament).

    Bowling records | One-Day Internationals | Cricinfo Statsguru | ESPNcricinfo.com

and the complete record for the same time period:

We've got a batting line-up that could flounder us a world cup on their day, but I don't think we've got the bowlers - other than Boult.

    Lochie is quick, but inconsistent.

Matt Henry can bowl a decent opening spell, but doesn't have enough variations to be a decent option at the death.

Neesh can't bowl a consistent line - he's straying down leg regularly.

Timmy's stats are very poor since the last CWC.

CdG is cannon fodder unless conditions suit him.

Santner is ok as a spinner, but he's no world beater in terms of taking wickets.

Ish can't bowl six good deliveries in an over - and hence is under pressure from Astle.

Agree with that. I think Henry's ability to take early wickets in combination with Boult should put him ahead of the pack, as early wickets are going to be key to stopping teams getting 370+

We lack quality death bowlers - I think a lot of teams do, it's nearly impossible bowling in the final 10. I think Boult and Ferg are our best bet to close out the innings at the moment.

Well yeah with the way the game is now any over for under 10 runs in the final 10 overs is a great effort.

We won the toss and are bowling.

Clearly the right move game-wise, but I kinda wish we had batted first. We won't learn much if we roll Bangladesh for not much and chase it easily.

Yip. I doubt we are going to learn much from this series.

Fuck I love it when insomnia leads me to checking the cricket score, and seeing an immediate wicket, and the BCs storming through a line-up something like 93/5.
    Sleep - over-rated... let's open a bottle of wine.

Just came back from a stroll and saw a replay of him dropping a couple of relative dollies.

    Very unlike him.

We could be chasing 260 odd here.

Bangers are doing OK now. Good on them. I hope they set us a big total and we have to play well to chase it down.

Thre's been too many one sided ODI's this year. Has there been a close one yet?

We might be chasing 300 odd. They're 168/5 with 16 overs to go and going along pretty easily. 8 an over gets them to 296.

Just noticed that if Henry can take two wickets a match for the next 11 games he'll be the fastest ever NZ bowler to 100 ODI wickets (a match or two ahead of Bond).

The problem for Henry is that him playing 11 games for the Black Caps might take him 2 or 3 years.

    He's definitely first choice now.

4 years too late in my opinion. I hope you are right.
