@No-Quarter nothing about local conditions? flooding etc? access for emergency services? I get that it's always going to be dicey as F but would expect them to want all the controllables to be as perfect as possible. But certainly a dumb way to phrase it aye!!

I don't understand the benefit. It's a tomb and what's in there is not going to provide any emotional comfort to family and friends. In fact quite the opposite. Particularly if something else goes wrong.

Because labour and nz first politicised the hell out of it with the help of a few families.

Yeah, they made their bed and are now being forced to lie in it. Politicising this tragedy is one of the most reprehensible things an NZ political party has done in my lifetime, and for me will be the main thing I will always remember Little for.

@Paekakboyz something about Oxygen levels?
While you dont want any more loss of life, you want something else to go awry along so these numpties who claim a conspiracy to cover it up rather than genuine safety fears are proven wrong.

Fortunately Labour’s behaviour after the Christchurch massacre is a complete contrast . It was two amoral creatures in the Greens that tried to use it for political advantage. This is worth a read

@antipodean Yep. It's extremely risky, extremely expensive, and the fact that most of the affected families aren't even on board with re entry is quite telling.

So Winston still offers but his offer has been declined? How convenient

People donate shitloads to the greens but don’t vote for them. Theirs dollar to vote ratio is hilariously bad

White virtue signalling champagne socialists are nearly the only one who vote green. And a religious party always has an advantage in fundraising.

The article says MPs have to give up part of their salary too . It pleases me to know they don’t get all of the money the taxpayer gives them particularly when despite all the money that they spend on campaigning hasn’t stopped their share of the vote from trending downwards since 2005.

I don't mind incentivising people to work by upping the threshold for when the benefit is cut after they've found work, but I'm not comfortable with the tax payer picking up the bill for fathers who should be financially responsible for their own kids.
-
@No-Quarter more that the women doesnt have to name them.
I have a 24yr old son, he was 6 months old when his mother and I split up (properly) I had to pay child support for 18 years, continued a private arrangement when I went on my OE. Agree that they shouldnt get away without pay just to give the mother an extra few dollars.
I expect, like Turei's situation, there will be some who refuse to name the father, but father likely living with them anyway as a boarder.

Jacindarella is getting married! I'm going to predict a wedding in February-March next year.
She's making John Key's flag diversion look amateurish!
I'm pretty sure Paula Bennett is a marriage celebrant, I wonder if shes free that weekend?
