I never knew that the players with 200+ ODIs have their number retired.

Not sure how sustainable that 200 rule is. Theyve only been wearing numbers for twenty odd years and already have half a dozen retired.

@Cyclops A lot numbers aren't being used though due to the 2-year rule, including some low numbers. Guptill (179) will be the next to get to 200 matches followed by Williamson (149). None of the other current players have over 100 games so they won't have to worry about this for a while yet.

    Yeah, very cool.

However the cynic in me says if Kane suddenly gets sick, he shouldn’t be taking sweets from strangers. I do feel quite protective of the little guy.

I really can’t wait for the Black caps to play Sri Lanka. It has been such a long time since these great rivals met in a series. I must be what? 6 months? And 18 months since the time before that?

Funnily enough, Kane seems to be the most popular of all the big 3 (Root steadily working his way outside that group) across all fanbases - so I'd hazard he'd be a lot safer than the others from that sort of thing. I mean I've never seen anything like that for a New Zealand cricketer overseas before

Yeah, Kane does seem to be popular. Agreed about Root. Kohli has a massive population to draw from as fans, and I quite like him. Aussies don't seem to from the series a few years ago.

I wasn't entirely serious about him eating the cake, but I guess, one nut job?
I have also been to Sri Lanka many times - I am careful what I eat.

1995 All Blacks deliberately poisoned, or just sick? I may be paranoid but it doesn't mean that they aren't out to get us. Kidding.

No play on Day 2 because of rain. Astle was very expensive in his 6 overs. CdG was as well.

Patel bowled bloody well, 5 for 41 off 10. Stand out effort in an innings that's currently 323 for 6.
    Pacemen looked to have toiled

Aussie TAB paying $3.25. Do they not factor in the weather forecast?

Maybe they are more optimistic in a result

    From cricinfo:

Kane Williamson calls right, New Zealand opt to bat. No prizes for guessing. Boult, Southee and their spin trio of Santner, Somerville and Ajaz Patel form their bowling attack. No place for Neil Wagner, Colin de Grandhomme, Todd Astle and Tom Blundell.

Well, Latham has plenty of time available to bat himself back into form...

A nothing shot third ball from #SteadyTheShip and 64/0 becomes 64/2.
