For some reason you entire post did not display for me.
When I quote it, it's much longer in the edit screen.
Maybe something for @Duluth ?
The software got confused by some of the characters in the post and truncated it
I've fixed the original post

China reported on Wednesday its lowest number of new coronavirus cases in nearly two weeks, lending weight to a forecast by its foremost medical adviser for the outbreak to end by April
I wonder if that is taking into consideration China's change of definition of infection to no longer include those testing positive but who are asymptomatic. Something unnerving about a definition change during an outbreak.
My mate in Shenzhen has gone dark on social media, which in itself isn't that unusual in China as he has to go through some hoops to break out of the firewall but still is concerning. Hoping to get some details through from his wife soon, she made it back just prior to the borders being shutdown.

@Kirwan probably overreaction
I see there is some pushback on the line that the Flu is more dangerous. It's impossible to get an accurate view on how dangerous this is with all the click bait glee in the media reporting on it.

So I have family members cancelling travel to Singapore because of this virus.
Is that an over reaction @Tim or prudent?
I am off to Singapore in April. The olds are off to Vietnam same time. At this stage I'm no concerned, most of the cases are people coming out of China and infecting their immediate relatives and friends. I reserve the right to change should things pick up steam, but I expect it will fade out in hotter countries

Wife is off to Japan in three weeks to catch up with a friend coming from Honkers. Neither are concerned.

Pretty big spike in infections and deaths in the last day or two.
This is an interesting tool showing infections, deaths and recoveries

Always cover your food
If it was food it would be shrink wrapped

@Rembrandt Singapore are apparently not messing around. A mate had colleagues cancel a conference trip because the Singapore government have put a stop to any significant public gatherings
Yeah its a bit scary looking
I imagine the panic would be worse than the disease, haven't heard of any shortages yet. I'd be concerned about it slipping over to Johor Bahru, going across that border and you see a significant drop-off in available wealth to deal with something like this.
