@jegga Yeah nah, not remotely in the same league!!

Agree it’s not in the same league as the Princess Bride but you meet someone who doesn’t know why “ tell him he’s dreaming “ or “ it’s the vibe of the thing” is hilarious they are probably more use as a mobile organ bank .

@MajorRage I watched a 2016 doco about her yesterday and had the same feelings of sadness. Footage of her being an absolutely lovely, expressive woman who just got shafted by nearly all and sundry including her mother, father and husband.
Horrible people and no wonder she died numbing herself.

I've also never seen it. Might remedy that tonight.

Expecting big things now though. HUGE.

Same boat here. Looks like a strong contender for a date night watch. V day tomorrow right? A doz roses and Galaxy Quest on the telly, what more could a woman want?

    good choice.

We do Princess Bride each year on Valentines day.

Grandson: Has it got any sports in it?
Grandfather: Are you kidding? Fencing, fighting, torture, revenge, giants, monsters, chases, escapes, true love, miracles!
Grandson: Doesn't sound too bad. I'll try and stay awake.
Grandfather: [sarcastically] Oh, well, thank you. That's very kind of you. Your vote of confidence is overwhelming.

CF Jnr never got it. Fluffybunny

From the wiki page, amazed it was made in such a short time.

"According to Santo Cilauro, the film took five weeks from original inception to final cut. The movie was written in two weeks, shot in ten days and taken to rough cut in two weeks.[5][6]

The name Kerrigan was chosen for the family so that tow trucks for the film could be borrowed from an existing Melbourne tow-truck company with that name. The company still operates today.[7]

In January 2011, 3491 Maintongoon Road, Bonnie Doon was listed for sale. The property appeared in the film as the Kerrigan family holiday house.[8] The property's real estate agent reported that many people called and after requesting the vendor's asking price, replied with a quote from the movie: "Tell him he's dreamin'."[9]"

I'll try it again one day. There's still hope, he's only 9

So you've already tried to disown him?

Ok so Galaxy Quest watched. Pretty good. Really enjoyed the 1st half, the 2nd half a little less. Dialogue was great, didn't love all the action, but overall a good watch. Missus fell asleep pretty fast so I finished all the wine, that was a big plus.

As far as spoofs go, I still have Top Secret top of the list. And for random sci fi spoofs, I can't go past Mystery Science Theatre 3000 (though i may have been under the influence when I watched.)

Watched Color Out Of Space with Nicolas Cage & Joely Richardson.

One of these days someone's gonna make a great film from one of H P Lovecraft's books.

    Sadly, this aint it. 5/10

@Victor-Meldrew Cage and Willis seem to be taking the quantity over quality approach to movies that are offered to them.

The Last Thing he Wanted on Netflix.

Watched this last night over dinner. It goes for about two hours. Based on a book. I couldn't tell you at any point what it was about as I seemed to be watching without paying any attention. That was the effect it had.

I'd describe it as having a script more than a plot. Bored the shit out of me.

"Stars" Anne Hathaway, Ben Affleck, Willem Dafoe. Directed by Dee Rees. No doubt criticism is proof of a sexist, racist paradigm.

I think I’ve seen that advertised and thought it looked poos , either Affleck puts me off seeing a movie add Hathaway into the mix and I’ll pass .

@antipodean I just 'watched' this. One of the worst movies I've ever seen. Made no fucking sense whatsoever, literally everything was random with people showing up and disappearing/getting killed at will. I actually laughed at the end (although I suspect I was supposed to be shocked beyond reason.) If I could give less than 0/5, I would.

@Mokey It's clear to me now that the rush for content has lead to Netflix throwing vast sums at garbage and "big name" actors are just dialling it in.
