Been thinking the same myself.
At some point the economic pressure that will result from this might prompt a re-think in the response.I wouldn't want to be the politician who makes that call, the economy is more important that your grandma. But no doubt they will have some models in place for different scenarios.

My sister's office in Melbourne just had their first confirmed case, its coming!
Kind of want to get it now so I can be indestructible in a couple weeks.
You want to be ahead of the curve or at the tail. Better chance of having your fair share of medical support

The race is on to repurpose old drugs to treat covid 19

Borders are closing to everyone not a NZ citizen or permanent resident at midnight tonight.
I'm so lucky we decided to get back here yesterday otherwise the kids could literally have never seen their grandmother again - she has months left, and they're not citizens 😨

@chimoaus thanks. We are heading up to to see her after iso is over.
Yeah, plenty of people will be affected by this. I wonder if Scomo and Cindy talked about trans Ta$man exemptions? You'd think they'd discuss it at least right, must have decided it's not enough to have similar policies.

@voodoo I would assume NZ is exempt as you can become a resident in OZ just with your passport.
Even that is tightening up. On this side of the ditch:
Australian citizens and permanent residents who normally live in New Zealand can still come to New Zealand.

How are they not citizens? You didn't get them passports at birth?

This article details the Chinese attempts to suppress their own doctors from talking about it.

All born in Oz, never got them NZ passports. I could probably do that in Welly in 2 weeks, though that wouldn't help the wife.
