Given every single potential employer does social media and internet research on all candidates these days, wouldn't name suppression for "brand damage", if allowed, be applicable to all of us plebs as well???

@Smudge Kinda reads like he's got the world's shortest fuse. And is a complete dick with drink in hand.

I was getting a little deep into the weeds of Byron quotes. Kelleher, not Lord.

(Not that I can find the original).

Great work by the judge, since when is this drunk bully being a brand?

    I like the judge's attitude:

*"Judge Collins did not accept this argument.

"You can cheat at cricket and still play for Australia," he said."*

He is right because that is true. The Australian Cricket Board and the players treat money like applause. Nothing else matters.

Kelleher has some front agreeing to trying that stunt, and he deserves it being announced to the world.

He competed well against high quality competition for the position but that doesn't excuse being a fool off the field, often.

I will always have the pleasure of telling this sleazy prick to fuck off to his table at Diva when he was only just a highlander. He hit on a mates mrs repeatedly and enough was enough. He was dressed in a denim shirt and tie with pleated wide leg pants. I remember thinking he was a good rugby player but a horrible dresser. He looked like his mum dressed him.

@Bones you really needed to see it first hand. It wasn’t what the rest of us were wearing. Oddly he was there with Willy Lose and Kevin Barry. I can’t remember what it was but there was some kind of event on in Welly’s that night.

It was the night I called Willy, “no way Lose” and he bought us drinks. Kelleher was a fucken idiot though.

@raznomore so around 97/98. The event might have been Eastbourne beating MSP.

at the height of Byron's career I knew his brother. Even he said Byron was stupid as fuck, vain, irresponsible and a dickhead.

Mind you my bro would say the same about me.....

To be fair, he's allowed to ask for name suppresion, as can everybody.
And the judge is allowed to give it or not in accordance within the law.

I prefer the legal system to operate objectively, with the process being more valued than the outcome.
