Covid-19 and keeping fit

For those of you who don't know my wife is a PT. She's basically lost her job as she knows it but she and the gym owners are industrious types. So they've been looking at the whole online thing. Not before having their hopes raised and demolished first though.
Scomo said on Tuesday that 10 ppl could train together for PT and boot camp sessions, in parks. The gym has a loyal following and there were a lot of members keen to keep the gym open to a point. The very next day the local government closed all the parks...
But the online thing seems to be working. She does work out every day and then posts it to anyone that has purchased a newly created app for her gym. It seems to have worked after the first day of buy-ins. Is anyone here using a similar app or doing the online thing? I'm guessing it's more of a thing for women.

My mate is dating a PT and she's doing this, but I think they do it on some kind of subscription Youtube link.
My main exercise is walking and the odd gym session in my building, so I'm actually getting more exercise since WFH, walk in the morning before starting work, then walk mid afternoon and then work until 6ish.

RWLI do the plug of referring to the start post of this thread.
My son does online PT programs and has set up a starter 'at-home' package for people to try. https://www.wiredcoaching.com
He is flat out at the moment adjusting programs for existing personalised program clients. Also the gym he works out of is running their group classes via Zoom. The PTs are taking it in turn to go to work and livestream a workout. I think it is for existing members but you could always sign up for a trial. https://www.mybounce.co.uk/virtual-timetable

Did a video call workout yesterday with my gym bro. Worked really well!! Awesome to talk shit and train. Found a bunch of stuff around the property I could use. Bricks, a bit of concrete pipe and a full bbq gas cylinder that I could put a dowel through the handle for curls!
We did super sets with 30sec breaks, and about 90sec between each combo. Sore today!! -
@Paekakboyz what exercises in the ss?
-
@Bones we did 3 rounds of each of the following
Planks + push ups 30sec plank and 10 push ups
Bodyweight squats then lunges. 10/5/5 for reps
Curls + dips 15/15
Squats and lunges repeated
Planks and push ups ditto
Curls and dips again
Then 3 more planks to finish. Done in about 45min with a couple of drinks breaks.Cardio got me in the second half lol.
We are doing a chest and arms workout as a trio tomorrow and I've got a legs challenge going with a friend from work. So we are going to do squats, lunges, etc on sat.
Can't recommend it more, esp if you have a regular crew.
-
@Paekakboyz cheers! Be interested in the chest and arms exercises too!

@Bones I'd cycle through some push pull type super sets. Stuff like...
- Curls/dips or tricep kickbacks if you have weights
- Flys and some form of chest press, if you have dumbbells you are set.
- Close grip dumbbell press, hitting the triceps, then standing shoulder press
- push ups, elevated feet if you are feeling saucy, then diamond push ups to destroy your triceps.
I'd probably throw in some planks or have 2min rest breaks between sets, as it's all upper body.
If you have a good 10m runway walking overhead extensions are mean af. Say 10kg DB held overhead and doing that 10m walk. If you are finding that easy do 4-6 reps if shoulder press at each stop.
Easy alternatives to rep range is do descending sets non-stop 8, 7, 6, 5 etc. Or if you do three super sets of the above build the reps through 1 and 2 and go till failure (success!!!) on the last round.

@Paekakboyz yesterday me and the kids did a 75m circuit outside...
1st cone - 15 star jumps
2nd cone - 15 burpees
3rd cone - 15 press ups
4th cone - 40 mountain climbers
1st cone - 14 star jumps
2nd cone - 14 burpees
3rd cone - 14 press ups
4th cone - 40 mountain climbers
and so on down to 1, except Mountain climbers, stayed at 40will probably just sit on the rower today.

Three way today! Arm pump is real!! Found some 6kg DBs under the house so it was all about volume. Pretty much sets of max reps over 30sec. Brutal!
