@antipodean Looks interesting. And Charlize...
Charlize is looking more and more "I'd like to speak to the manager" as every year passes......
A “Karen”?

Lazy Sunday viewing. Found the new version of Van der Valk.
Standard police procedural and although set in Amsterdam, the actors aren’t remotely Dutch.
Well made though and entertaining without being taxing.Have you seen any of the one off Maigret shows with Mr Bean? Surprisingly good.
Yes. Watched those as they came out. Very good

That’s the one. It’s all been downhill since Prometheus

Finished Devs
OVerall, I enjoyed it, but in the end (as I so often lament about series) I think it was a bit weak, although not quite sure how they could have done it better, but thats why they are the writers/producers, not me.
Watched a few eps of Upload (love series with eps under 30 mins) and seems decent, some parts reminding me of The Good Place (which isnt a surpirse given both dealing with the 'afterlife')

The creator of Upload co-created Parks and Rec with Mike Shur who created The Good Place.

@Nepia makes sense then
I've been putting off getting Amazon due to too many streaming services so far and I don't particularly care for their business practices, but I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet as there's too many shows I want to check out.

I've just ended my cheap 6 month deal with Amazon, and I watched all of the TV series and the few movies I was interested in at this stage.

Yeah, I'm going to get the 1 month free and see how much I can plow through.

Just finished What We Do In The Shadows. Thought it was really well done eh. Some proper snort moments and the vampire council was brilliant.
So finished S1. I'm currently watching S2 and while I don't think it's as good as S1 there are still plenty of funny scenes. Some good cameos too.

Netflix have a series Snowpiercer based on on the French graphic novel Le Transperceneige. You may remember the movie Snowpiercer from 2013 which I liked.
Also the Netflix series has Jennifer Connelly.

The last episodeS2E6 is brilliant. Close to one of the best. 'Jackie Daytona'@Bones , It was picked up by BBC first time. They are promoting S1 on the front page of iPlayer so maybe that is a pre-cursor to S2 being shown. It flew under the radar a bit in the UK which I find surprising as the humour is probably more British than American (although it does lack in toilet humour)

@Crucial fingers crossed. I just hope this time I don't have to watch most of the episodes with the screen set to half size and a massive border as they've decided they want to include the sign language lady.
Is that the current showing on iPlayer? Usually that is only done on re-runs in the early hours. I used to see it if falling asleep in front of the tele

Yup! The stupid thing is there was two or three without it. Even more annoying for a deaf person.

Well made though and entertaining without being taxing.Yeah, so I gave this a go and thought it was pretty good. You do have to make your mind up to get over the wide boy accents and dialogue though. A little too much "Nah, he's done a runner innee".

Mindhunter
Really trying to stick with this as I get to the end of season 1 but FFS it is sedate in its pacing. There are series that are more entertaining.
Bloody loved it. Reading John Douglas's books years ago may have helped
