On the back of a cracking conversation I had a while ago, that started like this ...

We were talking about Easter and chocolates, and one of my mates shared a glance with his wife that a few of us caught ... he then said on the previous Easter he had had "one of my moments". So a bit of pressing, apparently he has this thing occasionally when he gets a craving for chocolate and literally cannot stop. Always kicks in afte the family has gone to bed and lasts around an hour. In that time he will destroy every single piece of chocolate / sweets / biscuit in the house! On the previous Easter he had eaten his daughters Easter eggs then had to pop out first thing next morning to buy replacements!

So we had a chat and it seems all of us there had various things. One guy said he will order a family feast of KFC and get close to finishing it ... Another guy had haribos & even the girls admitted to various occasional mega binges (although I think they were shirking the truth a bit). So I fessed up ...

Licorice Allsorts. It's really bad. Like, really bad. I'll tell my wife the kids must have eaten then, I'll destroy all evidence and quite often just feel sick. I've been known to pick up a sneaky bag at Waterloo and have them finished by Woking on the trains ... That's 23 minutes. I've got it a bit more under control in lockdown, in that they are always on hand and I can simply have a few ... no whole bag incidences in a while, but I know it's only a matter of time ...

So come on, I've led ... what little Gluttony secrets do you have in your closets?

@MajorRage oh yeah I can understand the fried chicken one - I don't have an off switch when it comes to that. If I'm walking past a maccas I'll often just pop in to grab a 99p cheesburger too.

@MajorRage urgh licorice is the devil!!

I love a buttery crumpet, I will eat two and feel the stodge of it ruining my digestive system but hugging me deeply at the same time and telling me everything is OK... I can't help it. Not even as a meal or out of hunger, I just want them.
    Try not to buy them.

Man I could do with a crumpet now.

@R-L Funny you should say that ... I don't really eat liquorice by itself. But once it's in all sort ....

There is nothing that I cannot forego. Sadly there is also very little that I cannot gorge on.

Biltong. Snack of the gods. I’ll demolish that til it’s all gone....easily. Thankfully I’ve managed to resist the urge to do that with chippies or lollies but always good to grab a handful of the boys skittles every now and again for a fix.

Anything related to alcohol needs another thread

Ice cream. I keep myself away from it generally, but when it’s around it’s always “just one more spoon”.

Ice cream is my biggest weakness, couldn’t live if I had to become dairy free.

Was never big on crumpets but that changed this year. Rather fond of them now, wonder what they would be like with ice cream...

Nachos, tacos and minties. Am pretty good at avoiding but if they're in front of me.

Usually have a treat day on Saturday and go absolutely mental. No problem eating 12 tacos or 2 packs of corn chips.

    @Catogrande Same.

Ms DM is an emotional eater. If (when) she gets upset she demolishes anything she likes that she knows she shouldn't eat. Then feels bad about it so repeats it for days until she manages to break the cycle.

She cannot understand how I can open a packet of something - have one and then put it back.

I make a crispy chicken wing recipe that has a butter dipping sauce that has a whole bottle of tabasco in it.

    They don't stand a chance!
