Never like to see anyone injured, so pretty shitty for Bridge but it hopefully means some exciting new talent will get plenty game time... which is a very good thing.

My issue is that his attitude seems to be "the NZ public has to understand ... there's a lot we're trying to do that the NZ public doesn't understand etc.". My attitude is, well explain to us what we don't know. Tell us what you're thinking is - even after the fact. Maybe then we'll be able to see why certain things were done a certain way and we'll be less critical. But, this don't ask, don't tell stuff just isn't going to cut it with a rugby public who, for the most part, know a bit about the game.

It’s a bit of a balance though about not revealing too much because not only are AB fans watching but the world is.
When I look at Henry, he didn’t really give much from 04-07 RWC and people left guessing about rest and rotation and “2 AB XVs” but he seemed to adjust after the 07 disappointment and the media appearances and interviews from the cartel changed. So come 2011 there was a different feel to it all.

If Ardie and Bridge are out for reasons out of Fozzies control we will have no idea if he’s learned anything from the conservative selections.
I guess we’ll find out from who gets ten. If it’s RM, then I’ll suspect he will have not changed anything.

I think we've had more problems in the forwards than in the backs in recent years.
IMHO the problem in the last few years has been a lack of collective leadership when under pressure. Leadership is easy when you are shipping 30+ points on the other side. It tends to get exposed when you're under the pump.
The one crumb of comfort in last weeks game was last 5 minutes when we seemed to a bit more calm and collected when trying to get a winning score..

I suspect this is the JG/RI option. Jack to provide muscle beside Richie, strength and support lines, and Rieko to split rush defence by having amazing acceleration and footwork in a bit of space.
Their first games together, and I think the first start in those positions for both. Can see them perservering, and getting a damn sight better (praying emoji thingy).Well, if that's the grand plan, then Fozzie & co. need to bloody well stick to it for more than 1 or 2 games. Not holding my breath...

Yeah, felt his comment about how it doesn't matter which backs you pick if your forwards aren't doing the job was condescending and plain wrong. It was 16 all even with our forwards coming 2nd best in most areas, better selections in the backline could have easily swung it our way.
